Once, dragons breathed water too,
you know. Inhaled H2O. Reigned over

oceans & rivers of melted snow. Hidden
in temples buried at the bottom of the sea,

slithering with their shimmering scales 
& snake-like bodies, catfish whiskers 

& hawk-claws. Great beings rumbling tides
onto the shores of lands above, crying rain 

from storm-verged clouds, tears relinquished
from the sky. Some may call the underwater palace

they guard another Atlantis but this city
