Thank You (Song Lyrics)

Verse 1:
Hey old enemies,
Remember the girl who was weak
Who could break easily
Who didn’t know
That you would be the one who would build her up
She thought you gave her bruises in the past
Well I’ve realized it at last

Chorus:
I guess I should say thank you
For being who you are
I never would have gotten far
Without you making me stronger
Making me braver
Teaching me how to handle people like you
I guess I should say thank you

Verse 2:
Hey old enemies,
I think I’ve said my piece
Did you expect a message from the girl you beat down
Did you think she would still be on the ground
Crying asking for help?
Or did you know I would be like this
Thank you for teaching me what reality really is

Chorus:
I guess I should say thank you
For being who you are
I never would have gotten far
Without...

Just A Girl

My grandmother says she’s proud of the woman I’ve become.
She doesn’t get it.
I’m not a woman.
Just a girl.
Do women run through woods barefoot?
Do women climb trees in faded blue shorts?
Do they laugh and snort anywhere?
Do they keep stuffed animals next to them in bed?
Do they skip and hop when they’re excited?
I do all of these.
I’m no woman.
I’m in no rush to become a woman.
I’m me.
I’m just a girl.

Tiny Love

She Hates; I Love

She hates me.
She doesn’t want me near her.
She gets angry at me.
But I love her.
No matter how angry she is,
I can’t stay mad at my kitty.

A Normal Humiliating Day

I sat there in the log cabin eating porridge. I hated it, but Mother always said, ‘If it’s food, don’t waste it.’ Well, if she didn’t want me to waste food she would be making food that I would like to try. Not goopy, smelly porridge.
“Emma! Emma!” Matthew shouted, “Have you seen my notebook?”
He was wearing his pants with suspenders over them. His hair was combed and he looked like he was about ready to go.
“Haven’t seen it.” I said grumpily.
“Emma! Straighten up that attitude! Or I will—”
Before Mother could finish the twins in the crib started to cry.
Abby and Sofia were so lucky they didn’t have to go to school and get humiliated like I did.
I looked down at my school dress and saw a smudge of porridge on it. I didn’t care. Mother braided my hair and helped Father get ready for work. I helped feed the twins, while Matthew looked...

The Cyborg In The Room

I turn on my TV and listen.
Prince Jeremy is on talking, so I role my eyes. I despise Prince Jeremy. He hates my kind, and he loves to show it.
“People under my power—”
I role my eyes again, he always introduces himself like that. In fact, that’s another way of saying, “I have more power so you have to do what I say!” I washed the dishes, but keep my eyes on the screen.
“I have great news! As you know, we had a fundraiser. We were trying to raise money for the technology to be able to figure out who is a cyborg. These creatures—”
Creatures! That’s how he looks at us! That’s how he sees us! I would love to burn his castle and steal his riches right about now! Not humans or people! Creatures!
“—are partly robotic in some way. Well, after the fundraiser, we were able to afford a couple machines that we...

The Toddler And The Plan

There I sat on the vintage sofa, in an antique house, with nothing better to do than wait for doom to arrive. What else could I do? I just have to be the big sister that my siblings need.
I hear them fight back in forth in the bedroom. I can’t just go in there and stop it. If I did they would shout at me as well because I know better.
I’m thirteen years old, so I definitely should know better.
I look down at Finn and Olive. At least they looked happy, which is good because that’s my goal.
Olive usually was happy, because she was only a toddler who hasn’t stepped into the real world yet.
Finn knows what’s going on, but he just thinks it will pass like every six-year-old with. If I was his age I would probably feel the same way, but I can’t.
The sun shone through the window and danced on the...

The Boy With Secrets (Part 1)

She stared at him as the wind blowed and the stars glimmered above their heads. For a minute time was still, nothing happened. They just stared. Then she blinked, and he was gone.

The Boy With Secrets (Part 2)

She runs barefoot through the forest looking for him again, wondering if the whole thing was just a dream. She searches behind every tree and under every bush, but she doesn’t find him. She gives up and decides to walk back home. While walking across an empty field, she sees him. Don’t just stare, don’t just stare, she tells herself. She runs towards him determined to find out who he is. But just before she was a few feet from him he was gone. Again.

My Game

  • About a universe through your mirror. (Cosmogral)

People walking through the streets.
Nonstop.
They all have some place to be.
Little do they know that they are playing my game.
On my board.
No one could see me.
But I control everything.
The dog who got lost?
I opened the gate.
The boy who dropped his ice cream?
I tripped him.
That car accident?
I stole the wheel.
Why?
For the fun of life.
I brought down the rain and watched people scurry even faster.
Some with umbrellas, some with hoodies, and others with nothing to protect them.
Those are the people I enjoy watching.
The ones who don’t let anything stop them from their big goal.
They are a challenge to me. And I love challenges.
So maybe next time when something...or someone stands in your way,
Think of me.
I love being in control.
I love messing up plans.
I love crashing parties.
How do you find me?  ...

When Mother Nature Was A Girl

When Mother Nature was girl,
She would make the wind whirl
She would turn the grass green
And on trees she would lean
She was gentle and kind
She was able to relax her mind

Her and Jack Frost were the greatest of friends
Sticking together til the whole world ends
They would play all day
In the forest they’d stay
They would talk all night
Using the moon as light

Soon love filled the air
The birds sang everywhere
Jack Frost and Mother Nature where on the grass laying
Remembering the old days where they would be playing
They took hands and stared at the clouds
Thinking what they would say for their vows

While they were together Jack Frost grew angry and mad
There could never be winter which made him sad
Mother Nature said to people it was danger
But Jack Frost saw fun even if it meant freezing a stranger
So he made snow fall and...

Your Cookies

A little girl stared at the dessert table. Something was missing. The cookies. Her favorite cookies. Then a sweet lady came and put the precious cookies on the table. The little girl loved them. She immediately helped herself. When the party was over, her parents told her it was time to leave and she snuck the last cookie with her on the way out.
A few years later the girl was making them. But when she took a bite, things were different. She didn’t sneak any out the door. She didn’t have the desire to have them anymore. It was no secret, she knew why. The creator of the treats was not present. She wasn’t there to give her special touch. The girl ate a cookie, but hid the pain behind it. She wasn’t in a fairytale anymore. She was trapped in a nightmare. Whenever she had nightmares, she always told herself they were not real. But she couldn’t do...

Is 5 Enough? (See Footnotes!)

5 members in our family was enough.
Mommy always said that.
She also said at least every other day that 3 children has all she needed.
3 was enough children.
That’s what we always believed.
5 was enough.
5 was enough.
But it wasn’t.

 I was 7 years old.
It was a normal day.
Nothing special was coming, or so I thought.
Mommy and Daddy were in the living room talking to me and my siblings.
Mommy showed us pictures she got from the doctor’s office.
Then, we were a pack of 6.

How To Create A Hallmark Movie:

Step 1: Create a guy and a girl who are absolutely perfect for each other and never have any problems with each other.

Step 2: Make a “struggle” with the girl.
Ex:
shop about to close down, lose job, etc.

Step 3: Make sure the guy solves this problem at the end.

Step 4: Make sure the girl or guy gets a promotion for a job by the end of the film.

Step 5: Everything in the story has to be perfect by the end. The girl and guy have to be together, the “struggle” should be solved, and a promotion happens.

Congratulations! You have made a Hallmark Movie!

Feed Me!

Me: Feed Me!

Human: Aww you are so sweet

Me: I know, but feed me!

Human: I know what you want!

Me: Yes! Finally!

Human: You want me to give you some lovin’.

Me: No! I want food! (Walks to food dish)

Human: Oh! You want food!

Me: You don’t say.

Human: (pours food in bowl)

Me: Yes! Yes! Yes! (Eats)

Human: Say thank you, pretty kitty.

Me: ummm...no.

A Letter From Your Master

To my dear servant,
You may think you are not a servant, but I assure you, you are.
You are mine.
Whether you know it or not, you are my servant.
But enough about me, let me introduce you to my brothers.
There is Fear, my older brother, he lies to you all the time.
He stops you from you dream, he tells you it’s not worth it.
He does have many slaves of his own.
Uncountable, even.
Yep, that’s Fear.
Then there is Rebel, my younger brother, he makes you do things you never even think of.
He always tells you it’s a great idea, but it does come back and give you Regret, but that’s my cousin.
Rebel can make Regret come and bother you, sometimes for years.
They’ll remind you of a time you did something terrible, and you can’t live it down.
That’s Rebel, and Regret.
Then there’s me.
You could say I’m the worst, but...

Illusion

Everything is an illusion
I don’t know what’s real
I get stuck
When I see someone I know
Someone I love
I run to them
But I bump into glass on the way
I am everywhere
But there is only one me
I am stuck
Stuck
Stuck
I can’t see a clear path
I can only feel my way around
It’s an illusion
Illusion
Illusion
Where an I?
Where is everyone else?
Where are the people I love?
I see a black curtain
I go through
Then exit the Mirror Maze

The Youth Pastor’s Daughter

Every kid usually has something special
Something that makes them feel special
Something that almost makes them feel like a superhero.
Something that makes them feel like they could conquer the world.
It could be a talent,
An item,
Their imagination,
Or something else.
But when I was a kid
It wasn’t any of these.
I had something that I could see every Sunday.
I got to see my daddy teach children and teenagers
I got to see his joyful side
I got to see his silly side
I got to see his sad side
I got to see him do what he does best.
I was able to tell Children that the funny man talking was my daddy
I took pride in who he was and what he did.
That was my superpower
when I was a kid.

The Boy With Secrets (Part 7)

She woke up in the same dirty nightgown she had worn the night before. She decided to change into a different dress and explore the forest again. After she changed, she went downstairs to find her mother cooking breakfast.
“Biscuits are ready!” she exclaimed.
The biscuits were hot and fresh, and the girl gladly excepted one. After the biscuit, the girl opened the door of the small cottage to go outside.
“Where do you think you’re going?” asked her mother.
“To the woods”
“Barefoot?”
“Yes.”
“Why are you even in the woods so much?”
“I just really like the woods, okay?”
Her mother saw through her lie. She scowled and said, “Why?” more strongly.
“Well...you see...”
“Why!”
“Okay, okay, I met a friend.”
“Who?”
“He, uh...”
“He!”
“Yes.”
“Listen, darling, I don’t want you running around with a strange boy you found in the woods. You are fifteen! You need to start acting like a lady! Ladies don’t go running...

Perfect Moments

How can you tell what a perfect moment is?
It’s when laughter finds its way to you
Sorrow goes away
Encouragement is near
Love is on it’s way
Hope is holding you hand
Joy is within your reach
Evil is ignored
Hurt is invisible
Fear runs away
Watch for that moment
For it doesn’t usually stay
It’s gone in an instant
There is nothing you can do
The moment is gone
Sorrow makes it’s way,
Cherish every second
It’s over before you know,
The moment becomes a memory
It’s gone for eternity

The Boy With Secrets (Part 6)

The world felt like it was going in slow motion when she hit the ground. At least, she thought it was the ground. No, it was definitely not the ground. She opened her eyes to see the boy looking down at her.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“I think so.”
Then she realized he was holding her. She felt her face flush right there and then.
“What were you doing way up there?” he asked.
She didn’t want to tell him she was looking for him so she simply said, “I would like to know the same about you”
“I just like to climb trees”
He put her down against the tree and added, “I should probably apologize about scaring you”
“Oh, no, it’s fine” she said awkwardly rubbing her head.
“How did you catch me? When you scared me you were at the top” she asked.
“I have climbed this tree many times, I know the quickest way down”...

The Letter

To my dear friend,
I remember when we first met, you were to young to understand.
But that didn’t stop us from becoming friends.
When you were away it broke my heart, but I knew you would be back again.
While you were sleeping your parents were talking about you.
They were saying that you needed to grow out of your imagination.
They were saying you needed to stop talking to yourself.
Years grew longer and you grew with it.
You didn’t talk to me as much, but I talked to you.

Then the unexpected happened.
Your parents packed up your stuff and you cried.

You said goodbye and got in the car.
I told myself you would come back.

You didn’t.
Now I’m lonely in an empty house waiting for you.
Looking out the window everyday imagining you to come back.

I’ll be waiting here forever.
Lying to myself.
Telling myself you will be back.
When you won’t.
Love, ...

We Complain

Why do we complain? We have so much to be thankful for, yet we complain when the TV is busted, or when we don’t get what we want to eat, or some little things like that. We don’t hardly think about the people who are...
Starving,
Thirsting,
Hiding,
Searching,
Lying,
Crying,
Fearing,
Begging,
Freezing.
We are blessed to wake up every morning and see a new day. We are blessed with the roof over our head and the food on our table.

But we complain.

The Boy With Secrets (Part 4)

Forget it, forget it. It’s not real, he’s not real. But he was. Somehow. I saw him, I saw him. I could almost touch him. She couldn’t stop thinking about him, and his answer to the question. Who knows?  What? Who answers a question like that? Once again, she was searching for him in the forest at night. She was sitting under the tree she found him at the day before. Suddenly, he jumped out of the tree and looked at her. “I thought you’d come again.” he said. “What did you mean when you said ‘who knows.’” she asked. He smirked, “I’ll let you figure that out.” She was expecting him to disappear. He didn’t. He read her mind. “I’m not disappearing because I have some questions for you too.” “Okay.” she said surprised. “How old are you?” he asked. “Why I’m fifteen.” She answered. He rubbed his forehead in frustration. He didn’t say another word then disappeared.

The Boy With Secrets (Part 3)

Read Staring and Gone before this!

I have to find him. I have to find him. The words echoed through her mind over and over again. She could not stop thinking of the boy she saw in the forest. I have to see him again, she thought. Before she knew it, she was running outside again. Her night gown getting ripped on her way through the forest, her feet getting dirty, but she didn’t care. She thought of his galaxy-like eyes, and his hair as dark as the night sky. She thought of the way he locked eyes with her when they first saw each other. It didn’t take her a long time to find him. She found him sitting in the shade of a tree, he wasn’t doing anything, except waiting. “Took you long enough.” he said as he gazed at her once again. “Who are you you?” she asked. It took him a few seconds to answer,...
