A Mother

PROMPT: Forward Backward

Outside my window
It tries to climb the tree that holds it's home
Above the clouds the bird lies in limbo
There was once someone who could roam
Around the web of lies that she weaves
Still, the bird tries to go over the leaves
Until the others start whispering
The child she had starts whimpering
Outside my window

Can't Fly

FREE WRITING

What would you do to a flying bird
What would you do to a dying girl
Save one or the other, you decide
Take pain in the misery by design
The bird can't die, the girl can't fly
In a sky that's wider than the ocean
Running from what was once the sun
Laugh around, laugh around,
Those who can't die, those who can't fly

the warded

FREE WRITING

If the world were to turn their back on the truth
I'll keep on dreaming about a future without you
Deep in the past when you were by my side
Now we walk with the sun as our only aid
The laugh that we shared will stain my mind
Though the bird can still fly without a die
And the colors that I saw within the borders
So beautiful is the singing of my warders

take away

FREE WRITING

Take the whole of the hollow top, take the night that drew the stars
But paint it anew so when I wake up I can remember what once was
Don't ask what's not there, hide it within your shell, on my keychain
And sit on the throne that stops you still, used to cover from the rain
Don't take the crown from her or you won't sleep, underneath
Don't steal what's not yours, it's white and black heath
Reasons unknown...

Chains

FREE WRITING

The bridge begins to shake and you have nothing to hold onto
I see you tremble under the light with the red cliff moving too
Closer to the hand, closer to the grasp of the one who flew
Hold the tree, hold the tree, nothing against what is true
Mountains that roar through the wind, living with the shrew
Hear the word that came out of the deepness of the hue
Cut the rope of the slain, of the one...

Spinning

FREE WRITING

I feel the world is riding free and I can't seem to get to think
Can you come and meet under the sin? Over the sea
I see you standing with a look on me but I choke on the chain of me
I hear the converstions flow, and see the world begin to turn
The garden that I used to plow was only what it seemed to know
Can you feel the burn over the moon? I see them ...

Commotion in Motion

PROMPT: In Motion

The sun's rays shatter the windows, the waves flow through the cracks. It's heat starts piercing the rose becoming the sound of the attacks. Leaving behind nothing but those looking thorugh tinted glass. It stays close to the shadows while the yellow becomes grass, dancing above the shore pose, listening to the jumping bass. Laughing because of what you chose, until you say alas.

anywhere

FREE WRITING

Everything around me is falling apart
I keep a blue bird in my home
Who flies around as effortlessly as air
When I sing for my bird from the heart
Glittering eyes with no more
I wish I could breathe just anywhere

Petal

FREE WRITING

The petal withers away from it's home
And is left defenseless in the face of the sun
With a destiny so far all we can do is roam
The world can wish for a shooting gun
But until you pull the trigger will it too
Just wind up the courage and shoot
The wind breaks through our windows
The rain washes away all but zero
We're left to realize who we are
All fighting just to drive the car
For...

Tonight

FREE WRITING

Strawberries and ferris wheels, riding with the seals
Laughing with the bright sun, watch the kids run
Water parks and parades, all the pink shades
No more black and white, no longer blind
Electricity mixed with the warm felicity
Cotton candy, chocolate, and brandy
Celebrate the light, and dance
Just waiting for a chance
To take the spotlight
What a sight
Tonight
