PROMPT: Creative Nonfiction Competition 2020
For the third time this month, I heard the knocking in my skull, saw the vastness of nothing but blackness, and felt the coldness of ice as it touched my skin and my chest tightening. My stomach felt like I've swallowed acid, my vision was blurry and I couldn't hear anything except the loud pounding in my head. I held tight to anything my hands could reach. My body was powerless and weak. It danced ungracefully.
