we dive,
chlorine coats our skin and reminds us of our carefree youth.
we love to be beneath the surface,
hiding from the sun, and what we should’ve done long ago.
but when we come up for air, this source of life tells us to never wait.
it’s time.

we draw close,
thoughts and feelings rush, they rush and rush,
and leave me to blush, bright red blush.
coming closer, they say “i like you”
and add “really” when they...

Because you’ll be busy

FREE WRITING

To let you know in advance,

before you’re busily baking gingerbread,
before you’re decorating every spare space,
before you’re finding the perfect presents,
before you’re warmly welcoming family,
before you’re delicately dancing to the sweetest carols,
before you’re loudly laughing at the worst bonbon jokes,
before you’re marvelling at a festive feast,
before you’re watching another year go gracefully by,

I’ll be dreaming of you this Christmas,
Every moment of the day,
And I’ll be loving you forever after Christmas, ...

Push down your heart before it jumps up your chest. I'm not trying to steal it. I already have a heart and they have have mine and we are happy and this isn't about you. So, hold back your ego before it crawls out your mouth. I don't want to hear it. We don't want to hear it. That's right we're a "we" now. Thank goodness you and I weren't a "we."

And I think you are dreamy as dorky as that sounds coming out of my mouth. I think this is our destined duet. Don't you?

Keep on dancing, darling....

I’m going to rewrite, I have to rewrite, just got to rewrite

to get this right, cause you’re right, oh so right

and I might, maybe just might, I can’t believe I might

put up a fight, you’re worth the fight, I don’t often fight

but you are this light, the brightest light, I’ve never known such a light

so I hold my pen tight, incredibly tight, it hurts from how tight

but I feel it this night, more than...
