Head in the Clouds Parts

The girl holds onto the balloon, looking up. This is not just an ordinary balloon, however, this is a giant 60-foot wide, 75-foot high balloon meant to hold her and her friend's family. However, she is not looking up at the balloon. She is looking farther, over an oppressive wall, and wondering how far it will go.

These are the parts of my series, Head in the Clouds, so far that I have written. It is based off of a true story of two families living under the oppression of the Berlin Wall.

Part 1
The family- Mother, Father, Marianne, and Peter- were all real, although I added Marianne's name and made her three years older. I also made Father ten years older, and I made Peter Strelzyk ten years older, too.

    Germany is bleeding.

My fingers clutched the old black-and-white photo. My hands were shaking as I stared at the streets of Berlin.
Who cares if the Americans, English, and French are trying to cure the West? It won't matter unless they take the Soviet's spear out of East Germany's heart.

It was an old photograph of Grandpa Otto with his new fellow soldiers before they went out to the war. There were people in the background, the streets were clear. I've seen many pictures of Berlin in the newspaper, but this was before the wall. It was just so... open. But that wasn't what made my heart stop.
Everyone had no fear in their eyes. They didn't have fear of being oppressed. They were... happy. Of course, some of them had worry wrinkles on their faces from the war. But they didn't have the fear of the massive Berlin Wall...

Harry Potter and the Cursed Niece: Part IV

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Aye, I had a fitful sleep last name. There were snakes, a twenty-year-old women with shocking white and deep black hair, and a time turner. And there was Scorpius, holding my hand. I blinked, and then he was gone. That was how each weird and twisted dream I had last night ended.
I shook my head. I wasn't supposed to be focused on old, weird dreams. I was supposed to be focused on being normal- and joining the Quidditch team as soon as possible. Instead of transfiguration, on our first day, we were doing Flying Class.
Once the class gets settled in, she looks over each one of us, and then says, "Well, what are you all waiting for? Everyone stand by a broomstick. Come on, hurry up."
We all scurry to our places. I note, with disgust, that Yann and Karl stand on either...

"Wait, what?" Cameron asked. "After fifteen years of searching, I find you and then you tell me what?!?"
Cameron's fingers are on his temples, deeply agitated. I sigh as I look at my old friend and my old crush. So much has changed.
    "Let me explain," I said.

Do you remember that 9th grade field trip to Japan? Of course you do, that's when everything happened. We took six rusty, old, cheap five-passenger planes. Of course they split us alphabetically. I was in the "last group", my last name being York. I was always last. And because I was last, I was in the back. Of course, that was the same as Rain Walker. My personal enemy. I sat as far away from him as possible. And you had to be in...

A Chilly Autumn Day with Mahatma Gandhi

Devadas looked at his father. His eyes were barely open, staring off into the ocean, looking at the little strand of land that carried the name of England.
"What are you thinking deeply about?" Devadas asked.
His eyes opened all the way. Devadas smiled. He was very tired running nonviolent movements, he would normally close his eyes through long discussions. But not with his family, he loved them very much. It showed in the little things his father did. However, Harilal didn't see that.
Devadas frowned. Why couldn't Harilal see that he loved them so? Why couldn't Harilal see that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi had so much work being the father of a nonviolence movement in India that he didn't have time to be at his son's beck and call? Devadas knew that part of it was the fact that he had been without his father for a couple of years when Mohandas...

A Magical New Story | A-Review-For-A-Review!

Many are chained down
By their own vain misery.
But I will never.
No, not me.

I’m going to go
Somewhere new and free
I’ll write myself into
A magical new story.

You can watch as the
World crashes from its own enmity.
But I won’t stay.
No, not me.

I’m going to go
Where the bliss will be
I’ll write myself into
A magical new story.

We don’t have to stay
In this endless pain
We don’t have to follow
The laws of human nature
Human’s acrimony
Is a disease.
Imagination and magic
Is our cure.

In the human world,
You’ll be in agony.
I’m begging you,
Come with me.

I have to go.
Why can’t you see?
I must write myself into
A magical new story.

I must go!
Please come with me.
And we can write ourselves,
Into a magical new story.

Different Treatments

Sometimes you are so mad at somebody, you want to make them as agitated as possible. So, here is your guide to the different treatments you can give. Sometimes, you can even do multiple.

The Silent Treatment
This is probably the most famous treatment of all. You are simply on mute with the person for the rest of the day. Many treatments circle this basic one, but are more specific.

The Never-Together Treatment
When the person walks into a room, you walk out. You make sure you are never with him/her. If you must be in the same room together, go as far away as possible from the person.

The Squeak Treatment
When the person starts talking to you, you say something like, "Did you hear something? I heard a little squeak." If there's another person, you turn to him/her and say it.

The Phrase Treatment
    When the person starts...

I Have A Dream

I have a dream that the world will be a mix of color. Everywhere one goes on this lovely planet, it'll be a painting of various colors. I have a dream that one day truth will rise up and take hold of our planet. I have a dream that one day the kingdom of Earth will be united as one.

A Chilly Autumn Day with Mahatma Gandhi

Devadas looked at his father. His eyes were barely open, staring off into the ocean, looking at the little strand of land that carried the name of England.

The End of the Battle

    Don't even stop to blink.
Zhànshì picked up her stained sword from the ground as her grandfather's dying words echoed in her brain.
Our lives are now so short; you'll miss it.
Zhànshì looked at the battle around her, trying to find that one man who had done too much destruction to her friends and family. Finally, she spotted him with his soot black hair and snake-like green eyes.
    Don't even pause to think.
She stepped over the fallen bodies of her brethren and sistren as she made her way to the Pòhuài.
    Or you'll be dead.
She raised her sword above her head, and swung it at the back of the Pòhuài.
    Just do it.
The Pòhuài grabbed the sword from her hands and turned around.
"Oh, hello little girl," he said in his oozing toungue. "Trying to kill be now, aren't you? Why don't you join...

Write a poem using the sentence “It was as soft as silk, but as hard as stone.” (by Rohan’s Defender)

The words flowed out of his oozing toungue,
"I killed them, agone."
It was as soft as silk,
But as hard as stone.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Niece: Part III

"Albus Potter," Polly breaths once we get to the hall.
Albus moves his head to swish his hair to the side to make him look handsomer, and then looks at Polly. She giggles. I groan. All this popularity has definitely gone to his head.
"A Potter," Karl says. "In our year."
"He's got his hair!" a boy says. "He's got hair just like him."
I don't miss this moment to act. "And he's my cousin." As they all turn, I turn to the boy. "Rose Granger-Weasley. Nice to meet you."
We start walking to the Great Hall, where we will await our fate. Everyone is quiet as the fears start to enter their minds. The boy from earlier walks by me.
He puts his mouth right by my ear so that I can hear his breathing and whispers, "My names Yann Fredricks. I'm in lov- I...

Banphrionsa

It had been peaceful. Banphrionsa had been riding alongside Cosain on their unicorns. Cosain had glanced at her, still astonished yet very happy that the elf princess had chosen him- a lowly servant boy- to court. Her golden hair- the only golden hair in the kingdom- had been falling down the side of her shoulder. When she saw him glance at her, she gave him a warm and loving smile. Cosain had looked away in embarssement.
Cosain heard a blow of air. Cosain looked where it came from. And that's when he saw Banphrionsa. Cosains eyebrows lifted and his jaw came down. She had a hole in her chest. She touched it, her delicate fingers red with blood.
    "Rionsa!" Cosain cried.
Banphriosa swallowed and then touched Cosain's cheek.
"I've always loved you, Cosain," she said as tears formed in her eyes. "Did you ever know why?"

With No Help

Griffin Daniel Snow looked around. He had finally made it to the top of Mount Rainer. Alone. No help. By himself. He had finally proved he didn't need any help from anybody: not from sympathetic friends, not from his parents, not from the nurses and doctors.
He took out his camera. He wanted to remember this always- the true knowledge he could do this by himself. Not wishful thinking. True knowledge.
He snapped the picture. The photo came out. It was one of those old-timey cameras that printed the picture right there and then. It still had to dry, so Griffin put it on the ground, next to his backpack.
He looked down and tried to give out a whistle. But the back of his throat was parched. He opened his backpack and grabbed his water bottle. When he felt himself going into his Ira-state, He had put some ice inside a...

The Mistletoe Trap (a Christmas Story): Part IV

I watched the door. It was seven forty-five. My eyes bore into the door’s window.
“Why don’t you just start studying downstairs until your little study friend gets here?” Mother asked.
“Because he’s not a little study friend,” Dad answered for me. “He’s- he’s- he’s someone special.”
Mom gasped, and then swallowed. Her eyes started to get red and puffy. Dad looked like he also might soon shed some tears.
“Come on,” Dad hugged Mom’s shoulder and started walking with her. “Let’s go to our room and then cry about how our little girl is almost all grown up.”
When the door shut behind them, I rolled my eyes at my parents’ realization that they failed their mission. Their mission being not to let me grow up.
Ding-dong-ding-ding. Dong-ding. My head bolted up when I heard the doorbell ring. I leapt off the couch and started running towards the door. Then, I chided myself for letting my guard down...

The Drabble

Crash and Splash

I did not realize that we had hit a rock until I was sprawling in the air. Our little motorboat's only advantage had been it's speed, so that crash had a greater impact. I had been in the front so I was flying in the air. Below me I could see everyone else slumped against their seats. I couldn't see if they were breathing or not from up here.
Suddenly, I hit the water with a giant splash. My whole body ached. I tried to swim upward, but the impact was too great. So I just sank to the bottom.

Hero

Chayton had never wanted to be a hero. Well, he had never wanted to be a hero after he was sixteen seasons old, when his father had taken him aside. He had been obsessed with heroes, and all the good deeds they do. He had been starting not obeying his older sister, Olowa, because, "Heroes only listen to their heart and instincts." That's when his father had taken him aside.
His father told him about all the stuff they didn't tell in stories- all the deaths, the curses, and the cruel decisions. Often, the hero would have to make the decision for the "best of the people" not for their heart. Which meant sacrificing their family. Instantly, Chayton backed away from dream of being a hero.
So when the chiefess had stirred the embers around of the spirit fire and saw him as their tribe's hero, Chayton was furious.

The Mistletoe Trap (a Christmas Story): Part III

I started humming a Christmas song I had heard on the radio this morning in the car as I fastened the mistletoe above the door.
Suddenly, the door opened. The stool skidded as the door opened, and I fell off it.
“Gracie!” Kate came inside and helped me up. “Are you okay?”
“Yes,” I said. “Close the door please, snow is getting inside.”
Kate closed the door and turned to me. I brushed dirt off my sweater and pants.
“Did you forget I was coming?” Kate asked. When I didn’t answer, she said, “We were going to spend the first day of Winter Break together, remember?”
“Oh, yes,” I said. “But it would do some good to knock sometime.”
“What were you doing up there?” Kate asked.
I walked over to show her, but before I could start talking, I realized we were under the mistletoe. I kissed her hand.
“What was that for?” she asked.
    “We’re under the mistletoe,”...

The Mistletoe Trap (a Christmas Story): Part II

I bit the eraser of my pencil. How could I get Patrick O’Keefe to come to my house?
Then I remembered something. After Christmas Break, we have our semester test. And after Patrick showed his skill this morning, I might “want him over because he was so helpful in study pairs” so that he can “help me” with my studying for the semester test.
I quickly wrote that down in my notebook. I then wrote what I would say to him over the phone. I planned to have him over the Saturday night before Christmas- the closet I could get to having him over for Christmas.
So, I invite him over for studying. He comes in. I show him to my room and-
Where do I put the mistletoe?
An idea comes to me almost instantly. I’ll put it over the door, with two silver bells over it. So, when I open it wider,...

Sorry, but I don't care

Hello.
Hello.
Awkward.
You're the one who made it awkward.
My heart didn't love you anymore, Jessica! Just try to understand-
Sorry, but I don't care.
Then you don't have the right to say it's awkward.
You didn't have the right to break up with me.
Yes, I did.
You started dating that "Bella Babel" a week after!
What? No I didn't!
I saw on Facebook. You said "I love hanging out with you" in the video.
She's my cousin, Jessica.
Her last name is "Babel".
On my mom's side.
Oh.
Maybe you should stop jumping to conclusions, Jessica.
Sorry, but I don't care.
-
-
Do you want to go to McDonalds with me?
After you broke up with me?
As friends?
Sorry, but I don't care.
ABOUT WHAT!?!
Being friends with someone who is a jerk.
Really? I'm the jerk.
Yes.
That's just so- so- Ugh!
Ha! See? You can't even say how great I am.
You're...

Write about a character’s first day of work at an unusual job. (by BizzleWrites)
"George? Lee?" Ron asked. "I'm ready!"
George and Lee came down the stairs. When they saw him, they sniggered to each other. George touched a button on Ron's suit. Suddenly the suit turned a hot pink.
    "Not funny," Ron grumbled.
"Time to put your apron on," Lee sang.
Lee grabbed an apron and put it in front of Ron. It was a light pink apron, and had butterflies in the corners. In the middle was a purple flower.
    "No," Ron said.
"Ha, ha, very funny Ron," George said. "You have to put it on."
"What part of the Magna Carta says that?" Ron asked.
"The part where it says 'you must work here if you'd like an unlimited supply of the best pranks'," George said.

Titanic

"Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board." Except the Titanic. Close up, it was amazing. If only Sara Sweet could see into the future, then she might not have been so happy.
But Sara could not see into the future. She could see the present, however, and loved it so. She was on the Titanic! Technically, she wasn't supposed to be onboard. But she also technically wasn't a citizen. Her parents found her in the woods behind their house. They took in this weird baby with green hands and feet, a purple tongue, and long legs. They were afraid that people would take their child away because she was different. So, she never became a citizen. And she never became a passenger, hiding in her brother's room.
Sara didn't care. She never cared about what people thought- until she got onboard the Titanic. And met William. She had met him...

The Mistletoe Trap (a Christmas Story): Part I

I watched Patrick, who was at the other lunch table, where the popular boys were. A smile played on my lips. He didn’t say much, but he would pretend to laugh when the other’s laughed and do other sorts of things. When I hadn’t known he was pretending, I was fooled. However, I could now see the shortly delayed response, the slight forcedness of the laugh, and whatnot.
This morning, we had been put in “study pairs” in Ms. Cock’s class. I had been assigned with Patrick this time. When it was just with me, he showed that he was smarter than he let on. He didn’t say this, of course. But while we were quizzing each other, most of the questions he asked I didn’t remember a single thing about. However, most of the questions I asked he could answer in a flash.
          “Which boy?” Kate asked.
I turned. I realized that Kate had been watching...

Hello

    Hello.
I am you from ten years from now. I am trying to stop you from making a mistake- do not eat that bug! It will cause a whole world war, because that bug is from Mexico and everyone wants that bug, so they want you. It is horrible! So do not! I have kept trying to tell you, but you keep eating the bug in spite of me! So, this time, I have decided to write a letter. Hopefully it will stop you this time.
I'd also like to apologize. I've, err, uh, kind-of made 2020. "How?", you may ask. Well, every time I come, something happens. I accidently landed in the sky with my time machine and fell down and made an explosion, and made a koala catch on fire, lighting the whole of Australia. I also did that to California, except I landed on a car.  I carried Covid-19 to that man in China on my...

Oh my!
It's a tiny turtle!
Watch as he swims,

Oh no!
There's a giant wave.
What can be done?
Is there a way he can be a' save?

Who is Insane? | A-Review-For-A-Review

I quietly slid outside. The Slivas are still in a deep sleep, something I haven't done since the beginning of summer. It is early enough that I could see my foggy breath. The jungle is buzzing with noise, from birds to bugs to critters. The noisy mess toned down the racket in my own brain. I started walking on the path that Mr. Sliva showed me yesterday. The sunlight peeked through the trees and shone on my back; the heat was like a warm hug in the frostiness of the morning air. I found the rusty bench and sat on it.
That's when my eye caught the dark lake. It wasn't really a lake, more like a watering hole. Nonetheless, my mind unwillingly jumped into the horrid abyss of memory.

“Take Off Your Shoes, This is My House”

"Fire burns brighter in the darkness." -Suzanne Collins, Hunger Games

"Fire burns brighter in the darkness."
Fire dims when there is no fuel to kiss.

Love and unity is a fire,
A fire that we admire.

Because not all fire is dangerous,
Fire's may feed us or warm us.

This fire that we admire,
Shouldn't the flames go up until are hearts become the fire?

But, alas, floods are coming.
Floods of greed and power-loving.

And I try to scream and shout,
I try so that the my voice rings about.

"It's World War III!
Can't you see, can't you see?

To win at this rate,
We must cooperate!"

But my voice is unheard by the all the fuss,
And by the masks that are suffocating us.

No one hears me.
And my trapped voice is still unfree.

I quietly slid outside. The Slivas were still in a deep sleep, something I haven't done since the beginning of summer. It was still early enough that I could see my breath. The jungle buzzed with noise, from birds to bugs to critters. The clatter of noises around me toned down the racket it my own brain. I started walking on the path that Mr. Sliva showed me yesterday. The sunlight peeked through the trees and shone on my back; the heat was like a warm hug in the frostiness of the morning air. I found the rusty bench, sat down, and I looked around me.
And that's when my eye caught the lake. It was not really a lake, more like a watering hole. Nonetheless, my body unwillingly jumped into the an abyss of memory that I had tried to avoid all week long.
This was when I had been normal, not a mental...

It was still early enough that I could see my breath. The jungle buzzed with noise, from birds to bugs to mammals. To most people, it would be annoying and loud. But to me, it was like someone had ripped the inside of my soul and put it into all of these animal's throats.

The Terror of 1833's Halloween

Five-year old John D. Page was sleeping peacefully. His stomach moved up and down in a calming motion as he breathed. His sister, Elizabeth A. Page, who was one-year younger than him, slept as peacefully as he did. She would turn four on the morrow. Their two-year old brother, Philander A. Page, was sleeping In-between them. The calminity of the three sleeping siblings did not describe what would happen in the next second.
A sound like wood being chopped apart came echoing through the silent house. John stirred, but then fell back to sleep. The chopping stopped, and then a bunch of running footsteps and yelling came blasting into the children's ears.
John bolted up, awaked by the sound. Elizabeth slowly got up, too, nightcap tumbling off her head, as she rubbed her eyes. When a loud yell came across, Elizabeth's eyes opened wide. John and Elizabeth looked at each other.
    "What's...

YOU in threes

Me in Threes. Me in Threes. Me in Threes.

Three quirks or idiosyncrasies.
I have a lot of quirks, so it was hard to choose three. But I think I am a bit too logical, on-schedule, and I have a great memory (there's a rumor that I stole some of my sister's memory skills because she doesn't have a too-great memory).

Three communities to which you belong (these can be unusual).
I am part of the Write the World community (obviously). But before quarantine, I was part of the drama club at school. Another community where I belong to is my friend group.

Three adjectives your peers would use to describe you.
Intelligent, quirky, and shy.

Three adjectives your family would use.
Smart, on-schedule, and tall.

Three adjectives you would use.
Intelligent, timely, and book smart.

Three things about you that very few people know.
I like the SBA tests, the only chips I like are pita chips, Juanita chips, Fritos, and original Lay chips (I dislike most other...

Harry Potter and the Cursed Niece: Part I

"Mum!" I cried. "Dad's doing that lame thing again."

5 Senses: Autumn

I watch leaves
Make there way down
To the bottom
Of the town

I hear the wind rustle
Through the trees
And the falling
Leaves

I crinkle one
Of the tree's petals
And feel it fall apart
While in my hand it settles

I smell a whiff
Of pumpkin pie
That is
So nearby

I take a bite once
And then a bite twices
While distingushing
The different spices

If I Lived in Hogwarts: Original Idea by Coolgirl2020

  1. I would pack my timekeeper and multiple wands that I have made, once I am done screaming with joy.
  2. I would be sorted into Ravenclaw.
  3. I would be Draco's friend, and later something more. I would be nice to him, and perhaps he would be nice back to me (like Snape and Lily Potter).
  4. I would also become friends with Hermione, but back off from Ron and Harry.
  5. I would get Fred and George back for making me taste-test one of their sickness sweets by doing a scientific prank on them that would either:
    1. Make them sick
    2. Make them a nerd for a whole week
    3. Become my servant
  6. I would end up either going with Draco or my books to the Yule Ball.
  7. I would be a seeker for the Quidditch team because I'm don't think I'll be good doing anything else.
  8. I would graduate with straight A's from Hogwarts and become an author for books that the Hogwarts students...

Fauna's Touch | Chapter 4: Conroy's Scheme

Earl Conroy scowled. He remembered the dreadful moment exactly. Laura had been raceing down the steps- in an unladylike manner- when he had stopped her. Laura had said that she had to find her sister, but Conroy had told her this was more important. Then he knelt on the ground and pulled out the box. He opened it, and the ring glistened. He was about to say those prized words when Laura had interrupted him.
"Oh, Earl Conroy," She had said, her voice dripping with apolegitcies. "I'm so sorry, but I, well, already have a fiance."
"What!?!" Conroy had snapped the box closed.
A neigh by the stables had come galloping towards their ears. Conroy had rolled his eyes at the interruption. But Laura had looked hurriedly at the horse and then Conroy. Then she winced.
"I'm sorry, Conr- I mean Earl Conroy," She said, picking up her bags. "But...

Fauna's Touch | Chapter 3: The Search for Phoebe

Stephen looked at Laura. Her red hair flew around in the wind, like a flame. And her green eyes pierced Stephen's soul. The red hair and green eyes were a trademark of the Cox family. The first ruler of the land of Aldsan passed them on. Every descendent of him would have red hair and green eyes, no matter what. And it matched Laura perfectly. Soon Stephen's Laura.
Stephen and Laura would be wedded in only a week. Stephen was counting the days until then when he could be married to his beloved. Unlike most people think, Stephen loved Laura for being, well, Laura. Not for being a princess. That was the part he actually didn't like about Laura being a princess. He would have to be a king and talk in front of soManyPeople. Nonetheless, Stephen loved her too much to let a silly little title get in the way....

Fauna's Touch | Chapter 2: Phoebe's Escape

Phoebe was a very regretful person. So, she moved cautiously and carefully, even if that meant her sister would resent her. But sometimes things... slipped. When she got too angry, she couldn't control herself anymore. She couldn't control the birds.
Phoebe sighed. Her parents always insisted that her powers were a gift, but they seemed like a curse. She secretly loathed the goddess, Fauna. Fauna had done this to her. Fauna had cursed her. When she was only a babe, Fauna came and touched her finger to Phoebe's head; giving her the powers of fowl.
    More like powers of foul.
Every year on the goddess's birthday, she would come into the kingdom and choose one infant to become her Animalia. Each baby would have the powers of a different animal. Fauna had given Phoebe the power of every single species of birds, unlike most of the time. But it made some sense...

She looked into the dark room, the only light coming from the setting sun. The curtains blew softly as if mourning for the beloved king and queen. Laura's heart drooped. Her parents had died over a month now, but the pain still seared through Laura's heart.
Laura shook her head. Her parents would've wanted her to be happy for this joyous occasion and share it with- who? She had no family left. Well, except her sister, but she was very cold.
Nonetheless, Laura went to her sister's room. She was her sister, after all. She would be happy for Laura. Laura would be happy for her, too; if it happened to her sister.  ...

If My Life Was A Movie (Prompt by: Beth R.)

It would be rated PG, for some "mild insults" (fun, harmless insults with friends). There will be absolutely no swearing nor taking anyone's name in vain. Or else I kill the direc- I mean, put the director to sleep. Forever.
It would be a horror, as I reach the problem in my book- and it's dinner time. The cliffhanger I left off will echo in my head the rest of the night, wondering what will happen.
It would be a musical, me singing inside my head. A few times the songs would be originals, but mostly they would be Disney songs, modified to be related to my life.
It would be a romantic, being a hopeless romantic; yet no else knows that I am being romantic, for I am very subtle. It would be a romantic comedy, trying to hint that I have a crush on them. But failing. Miserably. I would...

The Genetic Fire

I groggily got out of bed. What had I got up to do? That had seemed so long ago, but it was only a few seconds ago. Then I heard the smoke alarm. Oh, right. The fir- THE FIRE!!!
I ran down the stairs as fast as I could. Aaron and Clementine were right behind me. I skidded to a stop in the kitchen. There was a giant fire. And right in the middle of it was my little, lousy stepbrother.
He didn't have any burns or anything. It almost looked... as if the fire was coming from him.
"I'll go get Mom," Clementine answered.
My little sister ran as fast as the wind as soon as she finished speaking. My eyes were probably as large as an owl. I glanced over at my older brother. His eyes were as wide as mine. We listened to Clementine's pounding footsteps until we cooled...

Is She Ready?

I walk into the yard,
Heart drooping.
Is she ready enough?
Or should she keep nicely living?

My sister is making jokes,
Worrying me even more.
I don't think she's ready.
From worrying, my brain is now sore.

This is a big responsibility,
And she's too immature.
She can't do it yet.
Give her a few years more.

And yet she does it.
I sit there, watching, nervous.
She does the whole thing.
I get plunged into a worrying abyss.

When they confirm
Her responsibility,
I start to be filled with...
Glee?

Tears start flowing down.
I shut my eyes shut.
Now I know she's ready.
And it's more than a feeling in my gut.

It's a big amazingness in my body,
Spreading everywhere like a happiness venom.
When I open my eyes, I walk away,
So that more tears may come.

She is ready.
Coming out are tears of glee.
Now I know.
Now I know that she
is...

Yellow Skies

The world outside my window
Is yellow.
A dull yellow,
Not a bright, yellow glow.

They say it's
From the smoke,
Which comes from fire,
Started by some foolish bloke.

Yellow skies.
How gloomy.
I sit there watching,
As the dullness of the world unfolds to me.

Brainwashed

    Destroy him.
I walked over to the boy.
"Enya, please," He pleaded. "Don't you- don't you remember me? It's me, Liam."
In an instant, I remember everything. I remembered Liam, the rebellion, everything.
"Liam," I whispered. "I remember everything."
Forget everything! All except to follow me. And destroy him!

"Enya," The boy said.
"Who is Enya?" I asked as I walked over to him.
"So she's still controlling you," The boy scowled. "But don't worry, Enya. You don't need to worry."
Suddenly, the boy splashed some boiling-hot potion on my face. I screamed in agony. Some of the potion reached my mouth. It was very foul-tasting. Then I heard a voice inside my head. It was the boy.
    Remember everything.

No, don't! Forget!
    Remember!
    Forget!
Enya, choose who you want to listen to.

Sparks of Courage

For my 4th or 5th birthday, we went to our city's zoo with my best friend and her mom. In our local zoo, the peacocks walked around freely inside the zoo's walls, strutting out their feathers.
Anyway, when we were walking to the next animal, there was a peacock. My friend was frightened. She ran away, crying. I walked over to the peacock. He stirred. I hurriedly pulled one of his feathers, and ran away. He chased after me, but I was more nimble.
    Some may call that dangerous.
    I call it courageous.
Now, I am basically the opposite of that. When I see the boy down my street, I can barely mumble a hello. That is a great contrast to my younger self.
But, every now and then, I feel a spark of courage. For a little while, I can walk with my head high. Now, the sparks of courage are getting...

Why does my heart feel like a painting by Van Gogh?
Or why does your smile make me aglow?
And why do you always remind me of Romeo?
I don't know why, but I don't care that I don't know.

"My Heart is Like"

Longing For Love

"My Heart Is Like"
A throbbing pain
I feel as if
A tornado is in my brain.
I long for love,
Yet that's the one thing I can't gain.
Yea, that's the most dream-like.

Dear You,

Dear You,
I want you to know that I will always be here for you, 24/7, 365 days (or 366 days) a year, forever. No matter what. Even if we go through a pandemic. Even if the murder hornets come. Even if the world explodes. I will be there.
Sometimes, you forget my greatness. You get annoyed by me. Maybe it's because you have to clean me almost every day. But remember, I feed you, so it's a good deal.
I want you to always remember that I will always be there for you.
                                                                                                        Sincerely,

The Unseen

Destroying Beauty

Dimwitted humans.
Electrified with knowledge, yet they are
Silly to not use the knowledge properly
To bring back the beauty.
Roses and daisies shall die, due to the unseen greenhouse gases.
Omounious-seeming polar bears shall die to habitat loss due to these unseen greenhouse gases.
Yea, there are even more troubles, such as
Intense storms and
Never-ending, insufferable heat.
Greenhouse gases could kill these foolish humans.

But there is a way to save the
Earth, by reducing the
Amount of burning fossil fuels that add to the
Unseen greenhouse gases
That will destroy Earth as we know it,
Yea, unless we do something about it.

The Fire That Destroyed Me

I was rereading one of my favorite books in the living room when I heard a beeping. At first, I thought it was a truck backing up, so I ignored it at first. But then I realized it was pretty loud. I looked up at one of my smoke detectors. It was blinking.
In a flash, I raced down the stairs to my office. A fire engulfed the room. Hurriedly, I filled a bucket full of water and splashed the flames. I did that a few times before the fire went out. But it was too late.
All of the novels that I was in the middle of writing were now ash. This was so shocking, it felt surreal. Everything, basically, was now ash.
Then the shock wore away as I took into account of what had happened. All of my lifeworks were gone. Everything I had worked hard for my whole...

Psychic Distance

With No Help

Griffin Daniel Snow looked around. He had finally made it to the top of Mount Rainer. Alone. No help. By himself. Griffin had finally proved he didn't need any help from anybody: not from sympathetic friends, not from his parents, not from the nurses and doctors.
Griffin took out his camera.
Griffin looked down and tried to give out a whistle. But the back of his throat was parched. Griffin opened his backpack and grabbed his water bottle. When he felt himself going into his Ira-state, Griffin had put some ice inside a...
