PROMPT: The Unknown

i do not know much about the sense of belonging
for the tight feeling in my heart
doesn't match the others
i breathe in and out and release nothing more into the world
than discarded thoughts and
downtrodden hopes

i do not know much about the hugs in the mornings
from friends seen yesterday
i do not know much about this at all

i do not know much about how to make myself feel when i wake up
my heart ...

PROMPT: Acrostic Verse

In the darkest nights it was his laugh
that brought me out of the dreaded slump.

wasn't it horrible when he was gone
at the beginning when he was away
somewhere i couldn't reach
never had i felt so alone even when i was surrounded by
the very things that made me feel alive.

rare smiles made my
eyes light up as they used to
and i realised he had never really
loved me.

Writing.

PROMPT: Why I Write

I write to release,
The stress
And all the worry.
It all disappears when I step into their shoes.
Its not me anymore.

Make sure they are happy
And make sure I make them proud.

Do something new.
Because when I write
And people read,
I am heard.
I am the one in 7 billion.

I am a selfish person, I do it for attention.

I do it to give subtle hints
And to spread joy
And to release
And...

PROMPT: Names for Nature

And life is still
no motion apart from the necessary
the natural.

the jostling of the drying leaves as the wind disturbs the peace
it prickles your skin and dries your lips
but its welcome

the leafy snowflakes falling all around you
leaving traces of life resting on otherwise still structures
with a flowing serenade of sound
as they spill to the ground

like the light that filters through the holey foliage
warms your face and deters...

The Loveliest List

PROMPT: Truths and Untruths

Wouldn't it be lovely if:

You were mine and,
I was yours.
It was only peace,
And never wars.

The fate was written in the stars,
But we got to decide.
Our souls were clear of guilt,
And lovers never lied.

People didn't leave in rage,
Or fall under the pressure.
We sat, in peace, while the world went on,
Just you and I together.
