Memories, loss and moving on

FREE WRITING

Where the old forgotten clock chimes and the mountains glisten with morning dew, there lies a small grave. It's dark depths hold memories long buried under a single lonely flower. Listen carefully, as you walk under the blistering sun. Adjust your ears to the silence and, within it, hear the sounds of carefree laughter and the footsteps of tiny feet along the cracked earthen river bank. Secrets that spread wildfire,
Lies and unbearable truths,

Cobwebs

FREE WRITING

Webs form and twist,
Merely dark tangles,
Of a love once found,
As winter itself settles,
A vicious breeze howls,
Tearing delicate threads apart,
Away with the wind,
Do webs incline to drift,
They glisten morning dew,
Long forgotten homes,
Left empty and mourning,
Cling to the old barn roof.
