waves wrap around me until i'm under; sharp salinity scrapes my throat
every breath is salt, soreness, sea
i emerge with ocean's bitter kiss left lingering on my mouth
later that night - ice cream shop
flavors befriend my growing hunger,
coconut sings cold, soft, sweet
while mango dances on my tongue
caramel's thickness envelopes me
sugary as cotton-candy skies, salty like the sea
