PROMPT: Flash Fiction Competition 2020

My feet slap the asphalt as I continue walking alone down the highway to a location that never arrives. I am propelled forward for hours, years, lives, until I cannot take a single step more and topple to the ground. I lie on the road and feel the pebbles puncturing my face.
