a neigh,  
a stamp,  
a whinny of hello-  
that's how they greet us. 

Tuesday: 

a shout, 
a whip, 
a kick to the girth- 
that's how we treat them. 

Wednesday: 

don't kick me, 
don't bite me, 
don't bolt, 
don't rear, 
just jump a metre and run a mile- 
that's all we ask.

please feed me,
please ride me,
please take care of me,
please love me,
just show me some attention-
