Message from Writer

I like writing poetry, short stories, and the occasionaly nonfiction piece.

Here you'll find all sorts of poetry, short stories, mini series about my boys, and some D&D (dungeons and dragons) tales. Hope you enjoy!

"Here we are," Lee announced as they started down the road to the Duke's estate.

Fiere shook Raven lightly, "Wake up."

He didn't, and Fiere sighed as he brought his lips to Raven's ear, "Do you want a cookie?"

Raven held out a hand and mumbled, "Yes."

"I don't have a cookie. Get up, we're here."

Raven sat all the way up and ran a hand back through his hair, "Already?"

"You've been asleep for about two hours."

"Oh."

Do roses get to fall in love?

PROMPT: Forward Backward

I am a rose
that you have wrapped around your finger
I am the graceful young man

who would die for your love
perhaps I'm foolish, as I'm someone
who love(s) you more than anything

would you throw me away? I,
wonder which of us is worse
because I will tell you sweet things and promise you a future I may not be able to give you, and so I

step away

It's so hard to stay near
can you...

Dead and gone (very important- read footnotes!)

FREE WRITING

I've been so busy lately
there's hardly time to think
my mind is always wandering
except when I wash toothpaste down the sink

It seems I'm one year older
than I had been before
and my heart is growing colder
as I face a tightly shut door

Seems someone's died
someone I knew
someone else who was getting older too

Great grandpa's gone, I'll miss his smile
but my heart is fine

When someone dies, I don't cry
I don't...

Emerging from the shadows (part 41)

Six months took a long time to pass, and yet at the same time passed quickly. The harsh winter gave way to a nice spring, and the snow had melted away as they turned into May.

Raven smiled to himself as he watched Fiere and Thexes tussle in the backyard. A rather regular occurrence, seeing that Thexes told Fiere to spar with him every time they had an argument. At some point Fiere had jumped up on his brother's back,...

There's nothing wrong with loving my child fiercely, so they know they are loved

Lee turned back as he heard his dad shout after him after he walked out the door.

"Be careful."

His father's eyes almost stunned him as he watched him say it, because there was a very fierce love held in them.

"I won't be in any danger."

"You never know. Just make your way safely home."

It was something Lee didn't understand at the time, but would much later.

He didn't understand what it was for his father, to be...

Some people will always want their fathers

FREE WRITING

Notice how the title says people. The want for a birth father to be present in someone's life isn't bound by age. IT could be a six year old girl crying in her bed. It could be a thirty year old man cradling his first born child.

Many children grow up to never know who their father's were. Some do, but they never see them anyways.

But they want them.

Sometimes it doesn't matter if they have a present father...

It's amazing, what we can do with words.

It's amazing, what we can do with words.

Most everyone has heard some phrase or other about the way words can impact someone. How they have so much power.

Words are powerful, it's true.

A word can take on so many meanings. Not just in the dictionary, or way it's used. IT can take a different meaning in everyone's minds. In their hearts.

It's amazing, what we can do with words.

A writer holds unfathomable power. A writer can do...

To be a falling star; they are the beautiful who die young

FREE WRITING

What's it like to be a falling star?

You will be the most beautiful in the sky. The most dazzling.

You will burn brighter than anything as you fall from the night sky, the others stars twinkling, jealous of the wonderful spectacle that is you.

It will be amazing.

And when you're done falling, you'll hit the ground hard.

You will burn out.

And you will die.

Everyone will remember how gorgeous you were, and about what you did. What...

Sometimes, when you've been made to fly, you ought to swim instead

FREE WRITING

And I got so high up, thinking one day, inexplicably, that I would touch the sun.

I didn't think I needed glory, but perhaps that's what I really was looking for at the time. In the emptiness that was my life I searched for some sort of redemption. I wanted recognition, and appreciation.

Someone who touched the sun would be known.

So I set on ny path. I did what many thought impossible, and grew wings so I could fly.
