A new year is here,
Already.
Sometimes I feel like time is always running...
Once I catch up to it,
It would slip out of my grasp. 
And then, I would have to go chase it again.
Like catching up to a moving school bus...
or trying to stop a piece of slippery soap with wet hands...
or simply just trying to capture a butterfly with a net.
So now, once again,
I'm left empty handed as time speeds away...

I don’t know anymore; I’ve lost myself.

It’s night now; the pale yellow moon shines stark against the heavy dark sky.
I sit at my desk, staring at the wall. My lamplight glares down at my evolution review sheet.
It’s open in front of me- I have a test tomorrow- I should be studying, but…
My mind feels empty. I’m hollow- like I have been carved out.

Always hidden...
Watching, but never acknowledged.
Waiting, but never getting the chance.

But I am so tired of it.
My body cannot contain it anymore.
The magic yearns to be unleashed.

In a sea of light horses, it should be so easy to spot me.
And yet...their eyes are so blind.
Their eyes, so attracted to the surface beauty of the white manes.

I know what they want.
All these other horses do not have it.
Only I do.
