Absent on a lark
Leaving us unguarded from
The dangers of the dark

At times the wind will laugh too loud
and grayness fills the sky
Or land will wither when the clouds
Don’t feel the need to cry

The sun has to squint down at us
From far above the trees
And all our tears are merely drops
To the vastness of the seas
