PROMPT: Open Prompt

Amidst the sheltering sky one
May sometimes see the falling leaves of 
Fall as a plea, desperate.
The leaves pepper the ground as they
Transition from green to yellow to red to 
Gray to bits and pieces that are 
Blown away as carelessly as dust.
They do this almost to say
"Look at us, we are just like you."

PROMPT: A Trillion Trees

The trees dot the forest
As a clumped collective
Whispering to each other with soft hushes
Whispering above the tiny ant-men that with their
Calloused hands violently tear away bark
Toss it away, discard it as though it
Were never really the sheltered clothes of
Souls whose staggered inanimate breathing
Is too often taken for granted.
As the shafts of the scarlet Sun
