The night air was so crisp she could feel it breaking against her tongue. 
 
Wearily, she laid down amid the heaps of dried flowers, evening gowns, tarnished jewelry, and brittle letters from one thousand men who she'd played and snapped the heartstrings of with elegant, painted fingernails. 

"Isis!" she howled to the night sky, her palms bursting into flame. "I steal a kiss from your husband and you make me torture a thousand. Pleased yet? "
