One Final Piece

FREE WRITING

This is a thank you to the Write the World community. I can't find words to express how much this has given me, nor how much I will miss this community. The confidence, the inspiration, the outlet for my angsty teenage emotions at a time when I didn't really have anything else - what I would have done without this website I do not know. I might be shouting this into the void but thank you, thank you, thank you...

FREE WRITING

What do we want?

She wears a school uniform of sorts, with brown Doc Martins, sleeved rolled up and blazer lapels decorated with uneven white stitching. In the eyes of the onlookers she reeks of rebellion.

But there aren't many onlookers; there are only passers-by....

And Breathe

PROMPT: Refuge

Refuge is release
From suffering, from fear
From the fiery flames
Of the world outside

From hiding yourself
From those disapproving looks you get
From everybody else
When you fail to be like them

You shut the door on all that
Lock it for good measure, slump
Into the softness of the Silence
And breathe
