My Home

PROMPT: At Home

When I left home,
I was scared and lonely.
I searched everywhere for
Another place to call home.

Some place where I can
Be myself completely;
Unabashedly free.
Some place where I can
Speak my mind,
Without the fear of judgement.
Some place where I can
Express myself,
And find unconditional acceptance.

I've looked in a lot of places
For somewhere to call a home;
For someone to call a home.
Sometimes, I stumbled and
Lost my way along this...

My Favorite Part of You

FREE WRITING

My favorite part of you
Are your arms
With which you held me
The first night-
Making me feel
Safe and secure.
Arms in which I sleep in
Soundly every night since.
Arms which pull me
Closer to you.
Arms which guide
My body on yours.
Arms which hold me
Tight and never let go.
They’re my favorite part of you.
For in them,
I have found my happy place.

Love in a 100 Words

PROMPT: Tiny Love Story

Two pairs of unfamiliar eyes in a dark room. Easy conversation and an instant connection. A fiery spark, passion burning bright. Gentle hands around my waist, keeping me safe, keeping me secure. My head on your chest, fingers interlocked with yours, we swayed to the music. Genuine happiness for the first time in forever.
Flash forward three months. The butterflies have disappeared and harsh words flow more effortlessly out of our mouths than I love yous. But each night, your...

This Monster Spins Beautiful Lies

PROMPT: Monster Flash Fiction Competition 2018

He had a friendly face. A warm smile. She couldn't help but smile back. Naive and eager to believe the best in everyone, she placed her trust in him. He gave her no reason to distrust him. Everything was perfect for a while. He stood by her side, and for a while it was just the two of them against the world.

And then something changed. It was sudden, the pain akin to a band-aid furiously ripped away from sensitive...

This is Goodbye.

FREE WRITING

Every tear I cry in your name
is another tear wasted.
Every word I write in your name
is another word wasted.
So this moment on,
not a single breath will be taken
in your name and in vain.

You were the poison coursing
through my veins,
the flame that burned
my innocent heart.
I don't blame you for it;
you didn't love me and
that's not your fault.
I shouldn't have been looking
for love in lonely places.

But...

Learning to Let Go

FREE WRITING

There’s nothing but the past between us now. Just the ghost of what once was. The present holds nothing for us, and in no version of the future, do I see you around me let alone with me.
It makes me nostalgic, and I lay reminiscing sadly of what we once were and what we’ve become now.
Maybe it’s for the best - no it isfor the best. But having to let go and give up on us makes...

Early Morning Thoughts

FREE WRITING

We could have made it work, you and I. Now I know you're not the relationship kind, and the idea of love just scares you. But we could have made it work. We didn't have to go all in, jump headfirst, no. We could have taken tiny baby steps. I would have waited patiently for you. Instead you had to ruin everything to the point where if I even think of you romantically, it feels wrong. It makes me sad....
