sometimes, when i’m really sad i think about bricks slamming into walls
and how when my brother was ten he fell out of tree and got a concussion

i wonder if things are ever really the same after they’ve been in those kind of situations

but then i remember slamming my own head against the bathroom floor at thirteen
and i realise we never really change that much

just the same old clothes going through the same old washing machine,...
