PROMPT: Book Review Competition 2019

Where are you?
I am without a flashlight,
Yet never do I see your gleam.
Stranded in a tempest of my own anger,
Where is your boat to guide me to the shore?
Agony and pain seem to cling to my soul,
But who can relieve my torment?
Alas, I am doomed to weather my storm alone,
My storm of blinding rage and endless hate.

A Brush of Hair

FREE WRITING

Silky, soft, serene
Strings
Of light and
Gold and
Ebony and
Mahogany,
Falling to the floor,
Gliding through the air.
Rhythmic strokes:
Up, down, through, around.
The spokes:
Massaging, neatening, calming.
Removing all cares from
Anything, everything, everyone.
And the final fair stroke:
Leaving you gratefully pleasent
And
Pleasingly happy.
