a clouded moon

FREE WRITING

i shuddered at the thought of how much it hurt.
awfully, terribly
a life-changing experience.
as any deeply traumatic event shapes who you are
excruciating pain for several days.

I perk up, and fix my posture, tuning into the world. I am surrounded by a storm of color, bright and fiery. The mug I grasp tightly fills my hands with warmth. Oh, how I love coffee in the morning. I take a sip, raising the glass to my...
