She
Was
Lost
When
She saw
Him
He
Picked up
Her stars
And
Put
Them
Back
In
Her sky
Love is a
Ocean
Vast and never
Empty
You are glowing
Softly, sweetly
Like the moon
You have eyes
That shine a meaning
Like the moon
You have a voice
So gentle and strong
Like the moon, if it could speak
But you are better
Then all the moons
You are my precious,
Darling, you
Just saying hi, I've been away too long!
Hi! Sorry haven't been here in a while, things are busy. I'll probably be posting some writing around September, love you guys and your work, can't wait to come back to the WTW community!
Shadow in the moonlight
A raven call
The quiet song
Of a waterfall
A broken harp
Still tries to play
A lost soul begs
For a better day
Shadow in the moonlight
Prince made king
A flower fairy
Being taught to sing
Big ship sinks
The little ship sales
Dolphin tries
To herd with the whales
Shadow in the moonlight
Cowboy dreams
All is not
Quite what it seems

Dancing girls
In pretty pink dresses
Daisies and clover
In their tresses
Boys picking flowers
Combing back hair
Taking the girls to
The dancing fair
The music starts
Softly, sweet
They slowly loose
Track of their feet
Stars are shining
But it's not time to go
The music is still
Nice and slow
One, two, three,
Twirl and step
Give the music
A little more pep
Let's go wild
Before our parents come
A little louder
With that drum!
Oh, here they are
To take us to bed
Goodbye dancing girls
Love you, but thats enough said
Humpty Dumpty sat in the church
A prayin' to the Lord
Wanted a pair of feathered wings
To carry him abroad
He then sat upon the wall
Waiting of this gift
Waited long, 'til he began to move
But not as he expected
Down he went, shattered his shell
Yes, Humpty Dumpty really fell
His mother, Red Hen, she came a cryin'
Humpty, he was broke
In his place was a chick
Like all the hens had
He had a pair of tiny wings
To carry him abroad
This is going to be a story when we're done! I'll start it with one word in the comments and everyone adds just ONE word per comment, and you can't comment twice in a row, someone has to comment between.
Echoes of hopes
Faded dreams
Half-written novels
Empty ink wells
Pencil shavings
Full waste baskets
Unopened perfume
Shattered glass
Tear stained hankies
Mildewed books
Wilted plants
Burnt out bulbs
She gave up when the going got rough
I hope this isn't you
I leap
I fall
I go fast
I can't get breath
I can't stop
I close eyes
I spin
I can't pull string
I feel the ground
I can't feel me
I don't breathe
I don't move
I die
Ask me anything!
(also, I will follow all who participate)
Will answer any and all questions!
This will end on 6/12/19 (Jun 12 2019)
I leap
I fall
I go fast
I can't get breath
I can't stop
I close eyes
I spin
I can't pull string
I feel the ground
I can't feel me
I don't breathe
I don't move
I died
The thorn, sharp
The rose, so sweet
You wander the garden
But lose track of your feet
You find yourself
Back there
Before the rose
Fragrant and fair
When winter comes
You think she has lost
All her beauty
To the frost
But she has not given up
Though she does know
She will not again
'Til spring grow

I watched him cradling my lifeless body in his arms. Our blood mingled and he wept. I tried to put my hand on his shoulder, tell him I was still there, but he couldn't see, hear, or feel me.
"NO!" I tried to scream the pain out, but it wouldn't leave.
"Why did you go, Shana? You know I can't follow!" He cried.
"I love you Ben! Please there must be a way for us! There must!" I tried to drop back into my body, but couldn't. He was immortal and couldn't follow, and I was dead and couldn't come back.
#1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll get back to this later.
Look away from me
My voice is lost
To pay the price
That was the cost
No longer can I
Tell of your love
Of your pureness
White as dove
You were dying
But didn't know
I gave my voice
So you could grow
Oh, my child
Look away from me
Go to your mother
Forget about me
This is a part for one of the books I'm working on. could you tell me what you think? Thank you!
Red. Almost black but still red. I stared at my hand. The blood was dry and cracked. Is the doctor ever going to come out of the operating room? Tears stung my eyes. If he died I could never forgive myself. My dad patted my shoulder.
"Honey, its not your fault. He'll be okay. We got to get home before it gets too late."
"Too late for what? School tomorrow? I'm not going. I'm staying here until I talk to the doctor. If the doctor says he is going to die...then I'll stay by his side till he's gone."
Dad sighed. "Okay. I'll pick you up in the morning." He was very unemotional. Nothing in his voice showed that he cared.
"Thanks." I managed. There was a lump the size of...
He fought desperately. He screamed. He tried to run. He said things we couldn't understand. When we got him into the sunlight he curled into a ball, covering his face. He had lived in the dark for ten years. The only person who he knew was the man who locked him there in the basement, beat him, and threw him food like he was a dog. It was the only life he knew. We don't know how old he was when he was put down there, but he couldn't have been more that eight or nine. Now he was at least eighteen. He hasn't spoken to us yet, and he might not ever. His name will probably be forever lost. My mom is trying to get him into her custody. I wish she wouldn't though, I mean, I want to help him and all... he scares me though. I feel like I know him, and when he looks at me...

Poetry and Spoken Word Competition 2019
A man
In the forest dwells
Fills paper
Empties ink wells
A lady
Whose life was ill-fated
He writes of her
His life dedicated
When he was young
Twenty summers or less
He met a farmer's daughter
She wore a red dress
She was the fairest
He had ever seen
Wanted her
To be his queen
Another also
Wanted her
A wealthy lord
From ancient Ur
Promised her gold
Diamonds and silk
He wanted the maiden
With skin like milk
But she refused him
And all his riches
She loved the scholar;
Divine kisses
The lord swore
If she wouldn’t be his
No one would have her
And still have bliss
The scholar took her
To his home
Gave her a rose
And a diamond comb
But on the night
Before they wed
The jealous lord
Took off her head
Pure white gown
Ruby red
Fairest maiden
Now dead
The scholar
Heart-broken and forlorn
Went into the forest
To spend...
The keys are cutting
Like broken glass
I type away
Ideas before they pass
Blood running
Makes more ink
Words are flowing
No time to think
I feel the pain
Of those I create
By the end
What is their fate?
Can they have
A happy end?
Will they make it
Around the bend?
I get cofused
Too much to write
I look over drafts
This can't be right!
I started nowhere
Near that plot
My original
I have fought
Red stains the paper
Black has smudge
Typewriter seems gooey
Like melting fudge
I need a break
But I can not
I WRITE ON
The Piano
It's smooth black surface,
Calls to me
As I walk by;
"Come and sing
That sad song of yours
That makes everyone gather round."
I turn my head the other way
and try to leave the room,
But find myself
seated on the bench
My fingers fly over the keys
"Yes, play me,
and make the world
Around you understand."
To war to war
The nations cry,
Let the eagle
Soar on high!
Hear the canon
Thunder loud,
Hear the weeping
In the crowd.
To war to war
The nations cry,
Let the eagle
Soar on high!
Hear the shouting
Late in the night,
As our weary
Soldiers fight
They fight
For there homeland
The die for
Every grain of sand
God bless these soldiers
Brave and true,
God bless them
And the red, white, and blue
Is there someone?
Please answer me!
My bones are broken!
Are you searching
For my body?
My head is spinning!
Does anyone care?
I'm dying of thirst!
Can you help me?
It's been a day!
Do you notice I'm gone?
So much pain!
Will you find me in time?
I'm blacking out!
Goodbye for now
Will I see you again?
Remember this my friend
You are unbreakable
You will be beaten
Turned out in the frost
Without drink in the heat
Yes, a bone may break
But your spirit shall not
You will be lost in darkness
You will be found in light
Demons will hunt you
People will shove you
Friends will stab you
But you are unbreakable
You will be sick
Your heart shall be stolen
Some will forget you
Others will not
You can run like the wind
And all will follow faster
You are unbreakable
Unless you give up
Sink to your knees
Let them smash you
Give up all hope
And end it all
But I know you better
Then that my friend
You shall hide the pain
The sorrow
Hide it from all
Wear a fake smile
Can't let people down
Got to look happy
Hollow laugh at each joke
Make-up cover tired eyes
Fighting and no one sees
Because you are unbreakable
Blood
Bone
Broken
Bruise
Bewildered
She could stand no longer
Run
Rip
Rage
Ruin
Regret
He fell to his knees
Stand
Strong
Smile
Satisfied
Sanctified
They made it with God
Swift is he
King of the pasture,
Gallop! Gallop!
Gallop to your master.
Over damp ground
His feet fly,
Canter! Canter!
Don't pass me by.
His whinny
So low and sweet,
Walk! Walk!
Good boy! Here's your treat!
Springs soft gaze
Warms my soul
Hugs me tight
Swallows me whole
Summer touches
My face and hair
Caresses me
Beyond compare
Fall's breath
Crisp and sweat
That alone
I could eat
But winter's kiss
Stronger than any
I could live on that
For a year or many

Swift, lord of the sky
The bird
He spreads his wings
And starts to fly
Breath caught
I watch him go
Soft strokes
Rhythmic flow
Wish that I
Wings to fly
But dreams
Are dreams
Nothing more
True reality is
What you make it be

Whispers, soft
Echo's off
Mountains cry
Of solid rock
Voices lost
Souls found
Memories buried
In clay ground
Bird song
Bramble scar
Dreams so close
Way too far
Time does pass
So do friends
Stand strong
Until world ends

Storm comes fast
Black clouds rolling
Not a good time
To be outside
The stars
Even they hide
From storms wrath
All but one
She is the sun
Struggles to break
Through the clouds
In the end she wins
She is the light
Stronger then dark
Good over evil

The tree
Stands tall
Branches echo
With bird call
She reaches up
To the sky
God her king
To glorify
He blesses her
With morning dew
Like pearls
With golden hue
Also gives her
Crystal sunshine
He loves her
His creation devine

She hesitated at the door. She was supposed to meet him here. He said there wouldn't be any danger for her but...she couldn't trust that. If she was near him there was always danger around the corner. She slowly turned the knob. The door slid open. She covered her mouth, but couldn't look away. More than fifteen dragon bodies lay on the floor, there heads not far away. Their black blood was thick on the floor. He lay in the center of the room, sword in hand. She went to him, the blood soaking into her sneakers. She knelt beside him and brushed the chocolate brown hair from his face. He always did that when he was thinking, now he would never do it again. His golden eyes were glazed over and tears were dried to his cheeks. She pulled his head onto her lap and wept. Her beautiful guardian was gone. The hole in her soul that...
"Something is coming, Cathy. We won't get away. This time it's over."
"We have to try, Colin! Kate is still out there. She'll come and help."
"Stop trying to fool yourself. Kate is dead. DEAD!"
"Don't say that! It's not true!"
"Listen! You hear that noise on the door? Something is coming, we won't survive this time."
"Kate will come."
"You really think a four-year-old could escape that last thing? She. Is. Dead."
"I think she could have got away. She has powers beyond our understanding."
"Look, if-"
"Oh, Colin let's run, before it brakes the door in!"
"I'm not running anymore, Cathy! If we run now we'll have to face something worse another day. That's the way it always happens. Let's finish it!"
"No, Colin don't open the door-"
The battle raged through the night
Soldiers fell, never again to see light
One man out of thousands caught my eye
He was greatly wounded but could not die
His blond hair was stained red
From a gash on his head
Swinging his sword, he seemed not to tire
Never leaving his eyes was a grieving fire
One-hundred years on the battlefield
Forever doomed a sword to wield
One-hundred years of falling friends
Another war begins when one ends
One-hundred-thousand years
Of bathing in blood and tears
This man was immortal
I knocked on the door and kind of hoped he wouldn't be there. He was. He opened the door and as soon as he saw me his eyes lit up and that care free smile spread across his face. "Hey, Megan! Wan't to come in?" The lump in my throat doubled in size and I started to cry. If he only knew why I came. "What's wrong?" he took my hand and led me to the living room couch. "Oh, Pat...I'm sorry." I tried to find the right words. "Meg, what happened?" Every time he spoke it made it harder to tell him, because he was concerned for me. "Pat, I didn't see them coming...I went out on the road and they swerved...I'm so sorry!" He pulled me into a hug as he realized what I was talking about. His parents were dead.
Skip the fact that he is the most evil guy in existence; He's really nice.
As I strode along the coast
Just for my own delight,
I looked to my left
And there beheld a sight.
The purple mountains
Reaching for the sky,
Calling out
With the eagle’s cry.
The mist surrounding
Their tree-lined base,
Creating them
A forbidding face.
I lifted my eyes
Above the peak,
And there saw
What my soul did seek.
I saw the Lord
And his heavenly host,
From that place
That place on the coast.

Why not give up?
Her hair is prettier
You are just ugly
Nobody likes you
Over there, he's looking at her
That just proves she's better then you
Give up?
I cannot
Victory lies around the corner
Enough of your negativity!
Under the mistletoe I'll guide him

There was a distant rumbling-roaring noise. I opened my eyes. What was that sound? Where was I? It was very dark. I felt around, and found myself to be on a hard, rough surface. I sat up and my head began to pound. The sound had gotten louder, and there was suddenly a bright light. I realized where I was and quickly rolled off the road. I didn't count on the drop. I was now on my back at the bottom of a cliff, with a needle sharp pain in my arm, and no one but God knew where I was.
Lights go on
Down the street
People rushing to their car
Carrying a child
Blood stains the driveway
Until next rainfall
Invisible tears
Make-up over bruises
Eyeshadow hides dark circles
No one knows how you feel
Under the cover of night is the blue sky; there's no need to be afraid of the dark.
I stood on that bridge all night. The sun was now giving everything a pink glow, and it reflected off my tear stained face. I climbed up on the rail. One more step, I told myself. I heard a car skid to a halt behind me, I didn't look back. I took that step.
But someone grabbed my arm and pulled me back onto the bridge. "Why did you do that?" I shrieked.
"I can't let anyone do that." He had a soft voice. I looked up into his green eyes. "Why?" I said again.
"It can't be that bad."
"How would you know?"
"It never is."
"It's bad. I have nothing to live for, I'm tired of living other peoples lives. All I wanted my whole life was a family of my own. I needed a job....but nobody helped me get it. my hopes have been crushed too many times. Theres so much more that you wouldn't understand....I'm...
I believe in miracles
Ones sent from above
God has sent his blessings
And showed his holy love
I once dreamt
A flower before me grew
And blossomed
Then I knew
My prayers had been answered
Me, my siblings,my dad and my mom,
Would move to the country
And have a farm
Three years later it happened
Our land-lord sold the house
We moved to the country
And I praised God with all my heart
I believe in miracles!
Silent nights aren't always quiet.
I woke to my alarm at 2:30 a.m. and jumped out of bed. It was Coffee Friday and I had to get to the library before everyone else. Just think, free coffee all day and books. A dream come true. I had missed it the last five years because of work, but I got today off because I had a slight cold yesterday.
3:02. Oh well, it's already packed. Hopefully I won't have to wait for them to fill the coffee machines again.
3:23. That was ridiculous! There was lady in an oversized pink dress standing in front of me, and she kept letting other people go in front of her.
3:27. I finally get to sit down with a book and cup of coffee. Maybe the rush will die down in a little while. I become engrossed in my book.
3:35. The library becomes silent. I look up...
I went to see
My sweetheart lovely,
At her house in London
When I got there
She was sitting in a chair,
Having tea with a gentleman
He leaned across the table
As far as he was able,
And asked if she would marry
She of course agreed
As long as he would not wear his tweed,
And the wedding date was made
I slowly walked away
No one could cheer me that day,
My heart was very broken
I dropped the flowers on the street
My sweetheart never again would I meet,
Now I walk the streets at night
You have
Ended my
Life,
Left me broken heart
Only
With one meeting
I didn't cry when you left
But now, I do
My heart is broken
Because of you.
You were the only one
Who I could tell
My secrets and sorrows to
But now there is no more you.
Thank you, followers! Each and every one of you is greatly appreciated!
I'd like to give special thanks to:

The Dreamer
I write to live.
I have feelings that need to be known.
I write to make dreams come true.
I write because it gives me power.
I write cause God thinks I should.
I write because I can.
Mother, Father,
How can it be true?
You say you love me,
But I can't believe you.
After all the things I've done,
The trouble I have caused,
How can you love me?
I love you so much,
You are always there,
Helping me solve problems
Combing out my hair
You give me so much,
But I give nothing in return.
How can you love me?
The doctor began to ask my questions about my mechanical arm, like 'Who made it?' 'Did it work well?' 'What happened to my arm?'. I was as evasive as posable. He was really annoying. A few minuets after he left my step-mom came. Boy, was she a piece of work.
"Honey, sweet, are you okay? You could have been killed!" she started to tear up. Talk about tears on command!
"What were you doing way out there anyway? You had us worried sick. I thought you said you and Jerry were going biking? well that the last time you go any where with him." She headed for the door. "Now get well soon, I have surprise for you at home." she finally left. I hated her. About half an hour later my sister came. Just the person I'd been waiting for! There was sudden, burning pain in my chest, and I coughed a few breaths. It hurt so bad, I wish I could have died, but the pain gradually subsided as my breathing became normal. Everything was black for a moment, then I opened my eyes. There was a white ceiling and white walls. Am I in heaven? I looked at the rest of the room. Definitely not. I was in a hospital. I sat up. My mechanical arm was gone, and nothing was there to replace it. The doctor came in and smiled at me.
"And how are we feeling?" he asked. I really didn't like him. I don't know why, I just didn't.
It soon became hard to breathe, all my muscles refused to obey. I began to drift of, away from everything and I thought sure I wouldn't return.
"Simon?" It was my sisters voice beside me. She came to late. I could feel her cool hand on my forehead, and then there was nothing. I was gone.
The suns heat beat down mercilessly. I heard soft steps behind me. A wild animal had come to end my misery. I couldn't open my eyes, this was the end. I felt hot breath on my neck, and a canine mouth took hold of my collar. It began to drag me. Why didn't it just kill me there and be done with it? In a few moments I was out of the sun. It released my shirt, then its breath was on my face. A wet tongue wiped my cheek and a dog whimpered. I opened my eye. Every thing was hazy, but I could make out Tanisha, my sisters dog.
I don't remember much more, just lots of blood. I don't think I even felt it. The sun was now peaking over the horizon. I heard another car passing on the road above, but wait-it stopped. Maybe, oh, just maybe if I called out they would hear me.
"Help" it came out as a hoarse whisper that no one could possibly have heard. I tried to sit up but only managed to roll painfully onto my side. I heard a dog bark, then the car started and roared off into the distance. I was going to die at the bottom of this miserable cliff.
I don't know how long I laid there, it seemed like days, but it was only hours. The needle-like pain never stopped. My mechanical arm was shattered, and I couldn't move. I heard several cars pass on the road far above me. As I lay there I began to think of how this mess started. It was two years ago when that little girl was playing on the train tracks. The train was coming, but she didn't realize, she was only like three. without hesitation I shoved her out of the way and then...........
"What did you do!" she shrieked. I knew I shouldn't have, but I wanted to do it my whole life. Now I regretted it. There was dry wall everywhere. At least my room was bigger.
"Sorry , mom. I thought....." I didn't know what to say. That wall had been in the way for ever.
