Tied down to loam with stem and soil,
Freckling the fields like hued imposters,
Amidst armies of uninterrupted green,

It is the saccharine scent of the budding Purple Bauhinia in spring and the sharp sizzle of carefully concocted rice and lentil batter on a pan that truly captures the essence of Bangalore.
