PROMPT: Ancestors Speak

 Walls stretching high towards the ceiling, further than the naked eye could see.  Blinding yellow sunlight shone through the towering colourful stained glass windows, depicting tales of desire and tragedy older than humanity itself. The air filled with nothing but silence, packed tightly with people focused on whatever they were reading. Rows and rows of books all from different periods in time, each with their own story to tell. So many genres to choose from some real, some imaginary.  But...

Sound of the Ocean

PROMPT: Flash Fiction Competition 2020


Waves crashed wildly against the  sandy beach shore, in a mix of Cobalt and white.  Light dimmed  as the sun  disappeared for another day to be replaced by the moon til morning. The memory of spending time with my father on the beach made me smile, as we appreciating the mysteries of the ocean. He was always living in a dream and it was that day on November 24th 2020 that he decided that I wasn't a part of it....
