i am so lost
in the things we call thoughts
they cloud my brain
taking over my soul

the conclusion of what's wrong with me

FREE WRITING

there's always been something wrong with me
it's always sat in the back of my mind, but i can never put my finger on what it truly is.
so when i was awake the other night, staring out the window at the sleeping city,
it hit me.
i came to the conclusion, that i can never accept true happiness.
and while i thought about my conclusion more, it made everything much clearer.
i get scared, when something looks like it's...

forgotten

FREE WRITING

its funny how once you leave
people start to forget you were even there
you fade into a memory
the good times you shared wash away
and are stored in the dark shelves of their minds
so when you come back
just to say hi,
they'll barely recognize you.
they won't realize that it's you.
with your chopped hair, and the sadness hidden behind your eyes.
they won't realize that it's the girl who left broken
who came back shattered. ...

FREE WRITING

i am re reading the things that i wrote you
the things i said to you
after you broke my heart, and ran away
the words that were written by my shaking hands
they are raw.
there are things i would never tell you
if i could in this moment right now.
i was drunken with sadness.
i didn't believe that phrase until today.
i was mad.
i wish i could say that i meant to say those things
but...

i laugh to hide the tears
i smile to hide my frown
i shake my head in place of words
i sit silently when i can't describe what i'm feeling
i bite my lip when i am nervous
i play with my hair when i am bored
i clench my fists when i am angry
i raise my eyebrow when i am confused
i roll my eyes when i am annoyed
i stare when i see something that interests me ...

feelings

FREE WRITING

i can feel my happiness
slipping off my skin
like raindrops on leaves

i can feel my smile
fade like the world
when my eyes slip shut at night

i can feel my laughter
shut off
like the light in my eyes
a flick of the switch

i can feel the pain
slowly start to fill my body
like the water fills a pool
slowly

i can feel the tears
burn my eyes
like the fire
that burned the pictures...

pain

FREE WRITING

i think when we are born
we all have a bright, cherry red heart.
and overtime,
when we feel pain, or a negative emotion
a small speck of black
attaches itself to our heart.
at first, it isn't noticable
and it seeps in with the red.
but after feeling so much pain,
or negative emotions
our heart starts to get darker.
the black starts to take over the red.
some people's hearts are black
from a young age,
and others...

really great job, in such a small amount of words you have such a big impact on the reader.

old letters

FREE WRITING

my fingers trace the worn letter
from the person who shattered my soul
staring with i'm sorry,
and ending with goodbye.
i wish i could say i don't have this letter memorized
but i do.
my hands still shake when i read it
as if you are whispering the words into my ear.
