                 beyond the light,
            beyond the movement
        stranded by its language

PROMPT: The Limerick

A creature of charm is the cow.
So wonderfully, implausibly highbrow.
In the mornings they eat,
Evenings, repeat.
They pass gas with an elegant pow!

There was an old poet named Peter.
Upon insanity he teetered.
While he wrote his rhymes,
He'd list out word crimes,
And say "Oh, I've messed up the meter!"

The Boat-Maker

PROMPT: Given First Line

Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board. My ship is wooden, its hull made from blue glass. It has neither passengers nor cargo. It glistens on a wealthy man's table, but cannot float beyond a second. An improbable wish, a sinking ship, blue wonder on an imaginary horizon.
Resident jarhead, they call me. An artisan in a cage. I made toy boats, once, but now I just fashion decorations. Ill-fated ships, never tide-ravaged, built to fall.
