PROMPT: Novel Writing Competition 2015

You are running in a dark, shadowy hall. Okay... The walls are closing in, you run faster and faster untill you reach a door of metal. How do I get past the door? You put your right hand on the wooden nob of the door and turn it, opening the door. Then you step inside and see a safe, it holds your memories. My memories?...Yes, your memories. Open the safe. I can't... What is keeping you from opening the...

Midday Classroom

PROMPT: Crash, Holler, Swish

Though you never hear the holler of a student,
or the swish of a paper airplane through the air,
even the crash of a desk is rare,
in the classroom at midday.

Oh never do you hear,
the sound of anything,
other then the sound of finger tappity-tapping,
on their chromebooks they work,
harder every day.

This is what I hear,
in a classroom at midday!
