My name's A, pen name Asteria Stelcadente. I believe in God, so there you go. I'm wanting to be a CTI in the Navy, an author, and a baker. Life's short, right?

Message from Writer

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

To Bones

FREE WRITING

To each bone lies a story
An end, beginning, and middle
The owner’s apprehensions written in the marrow
A deep groove sings of an assailant, a product of war
Fractures speak of avarice
Interspersed between the ligaments
A distraction lies bare
A way to alleviate what the owner was experiencing
And their own commodious stories
Still have much to tell
The consternation of death
The improvident wishes
Are all subjects in a bone’s story.

Mortality

FREE WRITING

Upon haunches, they rest,
The dancers move in rows,
Ever aware, yet unaware of,
Their loose-limbed mortality,
Strangers are they until dawn,
When at last their faces show,
Pressed upon by morning light,
The nectar of the gods fades,
And mortals they are once more.

The Ghosts On the Shore

FREE WRITING

“Under the waves and the earth of an age, lie a thousand old northerners’ graves. Deep in the night when the moon’s glowing bright, they come rising up into the night.”

Back in the older days, when the earth wasn’t quite so lonely and filled with life, there were a people. This was before the Iroquois came there, before any other people. They were known as the Enhita People, the ones of the moon, for they reveled in moonlight.

I Am Socially Awkward

FREE WRITING

I am a coward
Not at all empowered
With the skill of a seasoned dater
At the sight of a crush, my courage goes later!
I lack a tiara
That reads sayonara
Because I am not at all smart
And my head will depart
And that is my socially awkward lament.

PROMPT: Bread and Light

1. Music. I listen to a lot of it, and the good stuff sends my blood singing, adrenaline rushing, pure emotion thrumming in my bones and heart. I can't go without it.
2. Love. I'm cliche, what can I say? At the end of the day, love sees me through. Whether it is from friends, family, pets.
3. My faith. Also cliche, but I find joy in God.
4. Skittles and blueberries. The former is my favorite candy, the latter...
