The Tablet: My Story

PROMPT: Unplugged: Op-Ed Competition

I have never had a phone. I was homeschooled from K-12 and spent most of my time around the house, so my parents saw no need for me to own one. Whenever I went to the Music School for lessons or to the mall or library, I would borrow one of the parents’ phones, just in case.
I have never had a phone. But in High School, I got an ASUS tablet.

    Almost nine years ago, my family attended the Adams River Salmon Run outside of Salmon Arm, BC. We had been learning about salmon in science class, so this was the perfect opportunity to see a run firsthand. That Run turned out to be the biggest of the century, with 100 million salmon arriving.
