ah, daughter of the harvest and queen of the underworld,
when blood dripped from your fingertips, you never recoiled
no, you marveled at it's beauty, it's brightness reminding you
of the sunset-dipped hycinths at the gateway to hell
of the screams of mortal souls within firey shadows.

you weren't a fool to be lured by rosey lies, no
you were fascinated with suffering and it's metallic tang upon your tounge
wanting to crack open the earth in your palm
as...

Alone and Free

FREE WRITING

I don't want to be here.
I want to be floating through an abandoned ballroom,
tulle and silk flying around me
gliding across the huge, empty floor,
dancing to a violin that only I can hear
as my sanity slips away from me
and I try to match the twirls of sun-caught dust.

I want to be somewhere were I cannot hear my own mind
were I cannot see myself, feel myself, know that I exist,
a pitch dark and endless...

teetering on an edge for you feel you have no purpose.
dreaming of falling and thinking it might be like floating
for there are no tethers here, no anchors to this reality
so you try to fall, and fall further,
until the fateful day that you are weightless.

but why wait?

why wait for a purpose or a tether to claim you?
why float away because of hoplessness?
if nothing has meaning;
if no purpose is being given to you; ...

slip into this tragedy, love

FREE WRITING

slip into this tragedy
forgotten tears and grief fit like a glove
mourning, such bitter mourning,
fill each breath with a tell-tale ache
a screaming wail, a keening sorrow,
the moments that can never be claimed, never again
live on in a burning memory, love
soak in blood and grow from a corpse
wither and fall, reach towards the light
only to find, it was not the sun's glory, no
it was fire, and you burned.

there is a secretive shame in beginning.
to have to peice together something, to start a step
to have eyes watch as you stumble
holding out your hands flat against air to steady yourself.
to grip to your comforts like a lifeline
because this is new and it is terrifying.
to plead for everyone to look away
until you have settled into the role
and can glide with the grace they all seem to have
and forget your humbling...

we searched the dumps for light, for divinity
our filthy figers combed through mountains of trash
desperately searching, clawing our way through
our outstreached palms wanted to reach towards the heavens
but we did not turn them to the skies, no,
we sifted through the daily swill and searched for freedom
freedom that we could not grasp when we ran to the horizen
we tore apart ourselves in our search in the overgrown slums
uncaring that ivy had begun to...
