Sapphire Tides (A poem that wants to be a song)

Wild

PROMPT: WILD

I'll let my dreams run wild,
rushing, dancing,
like an innocent child.

I'll make it through eventually,
unkempt, wild dreams that will come true,

Call it a delusion,
an untamed idea never to be,
but I know it's not an illusion.

Running steps towards the dream,
not allowing myself to be fooled.
Then I see that I was the deluded,
a dream too wild to be captured by me.

A witness?
I couldn't have been,
the fingerprints lie to you,
I was at home.

The culprit?
That certainly wasn't me,
my alibi is airtight you see,
I was at home.

An accomplice?
Accuse someone else,
I was all alone,
I was at home.

Another victim?
Now you're being absurd.
My alibi won't fail me now.
I wasn't at home.
