PROMPT: Open Prompt

The girls pattered their makeup in the mirrors. Whistling and jeers flow from the door crack. I'm not supposed to be here, not among these girls. Their eyes were the rarest of jewels, bodies too beautiful to be real, unlike my saggy boobs, and gapped teeth. Stepping on the catwalk, these men don't want me. They want them, the girls. Who wants to see an imperfect body performing these acts on a stage? But I was real, the only human among...

The Day the Cold Began

PROMPT: The World Anew

Pebbled streets, shouting children. I remember it now. I remember when it happened. The day when everything went cold. The foundations stopped running, and the children stopped playing. Horror, no, their looks were worse. It's like they saw the dead crawl out from beneath them. Because that's what happened. The smell of off blood swirled around me, fog clouded my eyes.

A scream.

A child's scream. Out of the silence and death, it rang through the air, leaving an echo...

Dreams

PROMPT: Omniscient Lens

New York. Maiden Lane. Over Sleepy's. That's where he sits; no noise, just sitting. This man, you see, isn't anyone special, nor powerful but just an ordinary man. But why this man? Because in his apartment, next the bed is a dead woman. Her eyes are closed, like she's sleeping; but the asleep don't have stab wounds all over their bodies. But who is this man and woman. Who knows, just another couple I find while searching through my dreams.

Progress?

PROMPT: Your Voice: Globalization

We say progress is new technology and housing. But this progress killing animals, making air unbreathable!! And we have put the buttons that can cause death in front of so many leaders that we don't trust? In future generations; Amazon Forest will be called Amazon Desert, Antarctica and Arctic will be forgotten, animals such as the Polar Bear and Bilbies will not roam among us anymore: because of us. Is this progress? No, it's called greed. We don't need more...

Dripping Tap

PROMPT: Flash Fiction Competition 2017

I turned off the dripping tap.

'Strange, I'm pretty sure I did this five minutes ago.'

I shrugged it off, and walked to my room again. I flopped open my textbook, and flicked through pages of math equations. I got bored and moved to the next textbook and repeated the process. Once I finished all my books, I got and tapped my fish bowl. Toto hasn’t moved since I got him, I’m pretty he’s dead but his food keeps disappearing....

Experiment 25

PROMPT: Writing Small

Hup.

Hup.

My body shook from my air bubbles. I zoomed into the tiny dot, I jolted again and went off focus. I sighed turning the microscope's dial again. I jolted again, knocking over the equipment. Matchsticks and cover slips of atoms and bacteria flew to the floor.

Hup.
