PROMPT: Place Poem

The smell of plastic, old printed photos of me and my friends at Nationals three years ago, a bucket of ABC gum, bright lights and loud noises from tacky arcade games.

Skittles spilled on the ground, Kids shaking the machine, windows to the snack bar painted with tacky seasonal decorations.

Stark pink and blue, the smell of antibacterial soap covering something else, slippery floors, metallic doors with locks that won't quite lock.

Handrails chipping to show the layers and layers...

We were from books.

Or we were just orphans. 
And always, always, someone was after us. And we'd hide in the bushes near their house or mine, and we'd hunch down when we ran across the driveway.
