i wake up at ungodly hours
stumble over lego towers
there's no time to smell the flowers
when you've got books to sweep and scour 

as a student, I've got no time to sleep
after exams, barely five minutes to weep
i inhale and exhale because they say it's for health
in reality, i just study because education is wealth

a job in the future and a family of two
who cares if there's something else I'd rather do
traveling...

PROMPT: Flash Fiction Competition 2019

There's something strange about the color blue.  

It envelops the space all around us. There's clear blue skies, aqua-tinted blue water, my own green-blue shawl, frosty-blue on Aseel's frostbitten fingertips as he guides the inflatable boat, a berry blue color. For miles to see, there is blue.
