What Lurks Under The Skin

PROMPT: Monster Flash Fiction Competition 2018

It started as a spasming lump.

A dark lump convulsing in the corner of the girl’s room, growing rapidly to have the resemblance of a man.  Its face held no distinguishable features, its skin dripped festering oils and twisted sharp spikes broke through its hunched back. They spread throughout the walls, rotting the pink wallpaper with terrifying ease.

The creature’s growth went seemingly ignored by the small figure sleeping soundly on the bed, until it hissed, “Daissssssy.”
