A Little Bit of Darkness

PROMPT: Poetry and Spoken Word Competition 2019

But by the sky and the stars,
the endless night that shrouds this haunted castle,
there is a voice that fills the cracked and broken land,
it sings like the nightingale and almost touches distant Mars.

But by the sun and the moon,
the forever land that circles this catastrophic humanity,
there are thousands of broken people,
they weep like the waterfalls in Niagara and hum to their broken heart’s tune.

But by the deep and the dark, ...

My Library

FREE WRITING

A library is a place of magic, of wonder. A place where you go to find sanctuary within the fast-paced electricity of life.

When the piano starts to play, the music has...

Young Life

PROMPT: Child Narrator

I am running. Real fast, faster that I have gone before. I am like the lightning that strikes our tree every time it storms, fast and furious.
I am angry. Real angry, my big brother stole my soccer ball so he could play with his friends. Now they are laughing and chasing me through the fields of wheat that dad farms, my soccer ball lies forgotten and their footsteps chase me instead.
I am scared. Real scared, they are so...

PROMPT: Science Fiction Competition 2018

What if I told you that you couldn’t die. Unhurt by steel nor temper nor age, that there was nothing in the world that could kill you.
What if I told you that there was a place. That was all but beautiful. Both on Earth and off it. Where the plants prospered and grew in every colour possible, the infrastructure was infused with them, the earth was rich in red and the skies turned  purple and orange and yellow every...
