Your Hair

April 30, 2020

Your hair is long as weeping willow branches
shrouding you like a veil
and drooping like a peacock's tail

cascading down in waves
like a roaring waterfall
into the depths where sirens call

a cloak fit for an empress
and though your head droops in sadness
you wear it shameless

Hi there! It was nice to meet you too. :)

I really like how vivid the imagery was in this poem, every word had me hooked! I love how you compare hair to a waterfall, I especially enjoyed the lines "cascading down in waves / like a roaring waterfall." Also, the ending was perfect, it left me feeling amazed at how you managed to convey the ordinary object of someone's hair and transform it into something extraordinary! :)

@mia_:) thank you very much. Yes that's exactly what I challenged myself to do.

I love how you describe hair without mentioning words like "curly" or "blonde" or typical words like that. Great job!
