Group Details

Welcome to Poets and Wordsmiths, a group that celebrates the love of language. We'll write poetry. We’ll search for lyricism in the ordinary and mundane lurking in dark corners. We'll ponder over every word in a sentence, learn new literary devices, write with constraints, and play with definitions.  “Poetry is ordinary language raised to the Nth power,” wrote Paul Engle. “Poetry is boned with ideas, nerved and blooded with emotions, all held together by the delicate, tough skin of words.”

You’ll love this group if you… relish in the wonders of the written word.
