a good man once said,
"i have a dream..."
oh, lord,
he did say,
"i have a dream..."

that dream turned into
a reality,
but it also turned into
a failing dream...

that good man
was, under no circumstances,
a failure...

we the people
are failures.

we still treat people
who are different
in skin color than us
like they're animals
who don't need caring,
like savages.

we insult,
we laugh,
we hurt,
we yell,
we become their hell.

that good man who once said,
"i have a dream..."
had an amazing dream...

that good man who once said,
"i have a dream..."
is still not being followed
after all these years...

why can't we just treat each other like
humans?
why?

we're the same species,
but we don't even consider
differences the norm sometimes.
why?

just remember...

a good man once said,
"i have a dream..."
and i have that same dream too...

for justice,
for peace,
for unity,
for acceptance of differences,
for acceptance of diversity...

let me see the visions
come to life
that we have dreamt of
for thousands of years...

This is really well done. I like how you keep coming back to the same quote, it really adds to it! Great piece :)

Definitely good and I agree with you on that; we're all the same. Who cares what color our skin is?
This is a very well-constructed poem and your message comes through clearly :DDD
