Ella Hambleton

My name is Ella, my game is... writing! I love to write about nature, and I always aim to create a real mood in my writing, whether it be that warm fuzzy feeling, or a tense, and foreboding one :)

Message to Readers

I know it may not make much sense, but use your imagination, what is it? Who is it? Where is it? When is it? Please leave a comment on what you think the writing is about, and tell me if there are any things that don't make sense, and i shall fix them. Thank you and goodbye

PROMPT: Where Were You?

Where were you?
You were with me.
Where were you?
You were a world away.

In the delicate green veins
of every fig leaf.
In birds' wings when it rains,
damp flight feathers.

Where were you?
You were there.
Where were you?
You were running.

Running from a predator,
your dappled brown fur rippling,
Hungry, chasing, wanting more,
a grey beast swift and stealthy.

Where were you?
You were everywhere.
Where were you?
You were nowhere.

A snort, a squeak, a bark, a quack,
sprinting, sliding, springing,
Drifting thorough the mute vast black
the silence ever ringing.

Where were you?
You were with me and away,
You were here and there and everywhere and nowhere

What were you?
You were all things.
You are all things.

You are he young, the old,
the swift, the slow,
the furry, the feathery,
the imanimate, the alive,
the good things, the bad things.

You are me.

I am you.

I am all things.

I am no things.
