I've never liked my name all that much, but then I think about how much thought goes into choosing your name, the name that everyone will call you by, that you will always respond to, and it makes me feel bad.
In my whole grade of about 350 people and counting, there is only one other person named Nina. We don't look anything alike. It's weird seeing someone else being called the name you know to respond to. How do 2 people so different fit the same name so well?
I was named for my maternal grandmother Nancy. My middle name is Isabel, for my paternal great-grandfather Irving.
My Hebrew name is Nineveh. Nineveh was a city in Mesopotamia. Nina was the patron goddess of Nineveh.
My name is so entangled but it fits together, like a puzzle.
