140 people like what I write in whatever free time I have? Weird.
I never thought I would havev this many people that like what I do, and that honestly means a lot. It drives me to work harder at what I love most, even if I can't always give it straight to the people I love (platonically) AKA all of you guys!
So, I'm going to take the time to ask you guys; what do you like about my writing, and what would you like to see more of? Poerty? Novel writing? Maybe a few more peer reviews here and there? The possibilties are endless.
Yeah, endless. Writing opened up doors for me that I didn't think would ever budge open, y'know? I now realize, after a year, writing shouldn't be a chore. It should be the journey that you want to take, that your characters take. The long and winding roads to our imaginations should never end. Contemplation does some weird and wacky stuff, eh?
Every stroke of a pen I make, every letter key I type, I can't help but feel a piece of me be infused there.
And it was all because of one little comment . A single word.
That could have had a lot of different meanings, and it did.
Was a word I used in my work interesting?
Was a character I had created interesting?
And probably, most mind-boggling of all-
WAS I INTERSTING? Was loudmouthed, outspoken, annoying, little me..interesting?
It's funny how a mouse can turn into a lion in an instant.
I morphed from a puny little squash, if you will to a mostly confident girl.
And I'm proud to say this for once in my life.
My name is Isabella Caroline Collins, budding writer, artist, and everything else in between.
Do I like words? Hell, I'LL EAT 'EM FOR BREAKFAST IF YOU ASKED ME.
And..why am I telling you guys all of this now?
Well, 'cause this is my way of telling all of you what an impact your support has made on my life.
So here's to you. A toast. Don't worry, its apple juice.
Come on, raise your glass up high
To the girls and the boys.
To the tall and the short.
To the ones who squeak and the ones who roar.
To the ones who dance and sing, their movements tell the story in beats of life.
To the ones who shine in the spotlight, and those who prefer backstage.
To the cloud-riding dreamers, and those who have their feet rooted to the earth below.
To those who sing the songs of silence.
To those who beat the drum of conundrums.
To those who live life in pieces.
To those who keep things in check.
And to those, who keep things well, interesting.
This is all for you.
So, to our union.
And the hope that we provided.
May we always be satisfied.
