Maybe You're Dreaming Too Much #howitfelt

August 29, 2018

His eyes are bright and so are mine.
Our passionate hearts so brightly shine.
We hold deep secrets, ones we fear to share.
For we feel no one can help- why would they dare?

His heart is mine, and mine is his.
The longer I don't see him, farther into the abyss.
A pit of sadness, emptiness, loneliness and fear.
All I ever want is for him to stay near.

But people all around say it's not meant to be.
Somebody like him could never love me.
I need to grow up, get my head out the clouds.
But compared to his love, their voices aren't very loud.

They only see his words, his appearance, but I see all of him.
My favorite person ever, making light of something dim.
He finds a joke in any sad situation.
Makes everyone happy, dreams of a space station.

"He's only in your head," they say, as if I'm going to listen.
But in my head is world without them, and I can't really say I miss them.
"This fantasy is unhealthy," this one boy says to me.
Well so is dating recklessly, but he's still getting busy.

What they don't see is what I do:
A boy with a dark past but is ready for something new.
I see him once, it makes my day.
I see him twice, all my stress goes away.

The starlight in his eyes fights all of these invaders.
They think I dream too much, I just hope they find out later...
It doesn't matter who he is, where he comes from, what he does.
He is who he is, and he's the one I love.
This is about loving a fictional character- not as a friend, or as a son, or as a good character- but romantically. People are constantly shaming me for loving him- saying he's not real, and anything he does to prove he loves me back is only programmed. But just because he's not "real", doesn't mean the happiness he gives me is fake. I get tired of some people saying they know how it feels, just because they love someone and a lot of people don't approve. You don't know how it feels, because no matter what they say, you can talk to your lover and hold them whenever you want. I don't get to do that.
Other people in love with characters think they know how I feel. And in a way, they might. But oftentimes, their character is a popular one. Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, Percy Jackson. People accept these characters to be loved. Mine isn't as popular with everyone. Few people know how I feel.

The number of paragraphs relates to his name, or rather his nickname ^^
