China Doll

    If you look at humans,
You would say we are made
Of skin, blood, and veins.
But we are truly
Made of glass.

We are china dolls.
We may look tough,
But a simple piece of paper
Hurts us.

Words hurt harder than actions
And we try to hide our pain
Through our artificial smile(s)
Because deep down we are crying.

We want to pretend everything is okay
And perfect like a dollhouse
But in reality
Everything is broken.

We are weak and fragile.
Wanting to believe
What we want to.
But everything is fragile
Like a china doll
And we are all broken...

Ironically, I used to hate writing poems in school. I prefer writing free-form poems instead...
