I remember when the days were long.

I remember when our world was small.

I remember the wind in my hair, the music in my ears, the sun in my eyes.

I remember the way you smiled at me.

I remember the clouds dotting the endless summer sky,

and how its color paled in comparison to your eyes.

I remember the way the trees were like green blurs as we sped past.

I remember the way you laughed as the wind blew my hair into my face.

I remember the lake that day, washing our faces in water clearer than crystals.

I remember the long, winding road.

I remember the drives we took along that road.

I remember the way you smiled at me.

I remember the way the stars shone that warm midsummer night.

You had stars in your blue eyes that night.

I remember the way you held my hand in front of the crackling campfire.

I remember simpler times.

I remember better days.

I remember your old, beaten down guitar and the way your fingers strummed the strings that night.

I remember your voice, rich and raw with emotion as you sung to me.

I remember the way you smiled at me.

I'm not a huge person for love poetry or anything, but this is beautiful.
