Message from Writer

Life is crazy, but ultimately it's amazing

Look guys, I'm just seventeen and hopeless and filling these pages like it will save me.

I live for comments and reviews but I work twenty hours a week, and take college classes, so I'm not terribly active anymore.

Questions For Icarus

Tell me Icarus,
Golden boy with wings of wax,
Did you laugh when you
Fell?
Or did you brace for it?
Tell me Icarus,
Broken boy with sodden feathers,
Were you afraid?
Or did you welcome to sea with
A smile?
Tell me Icarus,
Rebel boy with windblown hair,
Do you regret a gleaming
Moment of flight?
Or were those instants of freedom
Everything?
Tell me Icarus,
Lost boy with only a legend to your name,
Should I obey and
Avoid the fall?
Or should I fly into the sun?

Icarus is my favorite story of Greek mythology & I can't find any words to express how awesomely this poem describes how I feel about it!
    Absolutely gorgeous!

    Thank you, Kate.
(It's from Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five, which I highly recommend. It is definitely an adult book though, and it has language and imagery some readers may not be able to handle.)
