We spent so much time being afraid of what was in the shadows, that never did we think we’d have to fear the light. It seems so obvious in retrospect--no longer trusting the world we lived in, neither the light nor the darkness safe--we began to tear life as we knew it apart. It wasn’t until we, for the first time, saw our bloodstained hands and began to take a look at the world around us that we realized we were never fighting the monsters. We had become them.
