in january, I fell in love.
new beginnings made shiny promises,
and my heart fluttered with unfamiliarity.
yet the excitement faded quickly
when the expectation didn't meet reality.

january, you break promises so gracefully.
our yearly entanglement is such beautiful destruction.
fleeting, yet intoxicating.
