Atlas's Poem

December 3, 2017

FREE WRITING

5
Roll your shoulders gently, dear
Careful, don't disturb the stars
I know the sky is heavy, dear
Holding it up is hard
Take another breath, dear
Quiet your aching heart

Don't let the sky fall, Atlas

Let your eyes fall shut
Forget the weight of heaven
Allow your mind to drift away
To that place between now and then
No one asked you to carry the sky
You shouldered the weight just the same
You must admit the irony
Carrying heaven has always been your hell

Don't let the sky fall, Atlas

I'm so sorry, my dear
For I know what your future holds
You won't buckle beneath the weight, dear
Instead, you'll turn to stone
You never really belonged, dear
Neither heaven nor hell has ever been home

Don't let the sky fall, Atlas

Thank you so much! Honestly this is one of my favorite pieces because it kinda just flowed from my pen. Writer-me knew what to do even if regular-me didn't, I guess XD

This is so good! I love the sweet words used in the piece and how it's got a nice rhythm to it. It's really wonderful :D

No problem. Btw, you're work is steadily improving (you were always good but you're definitely getting even better)
