That Hamilton recognizes Peggy's handwriting. Him recognizing that it's not Eliza's is to be expected, and if he didn't that would be weird. Anyone would recognize their significant other's handwriting. The fact that he notices Peggy's, however, takes it to the next level.
I'm glad I know when and how Hamilton dies, otherwise I would be worried about him possibly getting a command. I feel his frustration, though, very well.
This isn't about the piece, but I saw your question about playwriting. Would you write musicals?
